Jarkko Apologies. Reading that back it appears a bit abrupt and dismissive, which was not my intention. I am, by nature, a man of few words. I’m alw...
@jarkko I was referring to Derrick Downing who was with us in the Stan Anderson era, which is why I questioned my recollections.
@boro-beckys-dad I will be there with Offspring and grandchildren. I well remember the original Downing tearing down the left wing and scoring with...
And we would have maintained the moral high ground.
I suggested when this sorry “spygate” saga kicked off that we might end up losing the sympathy of the wider football community. It would seem that thi...
@exmil I agree. The bad feeling from the Derby fiasco still persists. We're in danger of losing the sympathy of other clubs if we push this too far. ...
I was obviously typing my post at the same time as KP, so we’re of the same mind.
Like others, I would be uncomfortable with Boro winning promotion as a result of Southampton being disqualified as this might cause a ripple effect wi...
Or UTB even!!
OFB Thanks for your quick response. John was a nice bloke. I appreciate your position as a friend and fellow referee in not wishing to pass comment....
It’s a very long time since I last posted, although I’m a regular reader. Unfortunately, with other commitments and slow/non-existent typing skills, I...
@original-fat-bob
That should read “identify” as. Autocorrect is another pet hate but I should have read before posting.
Yes, an impressive performance by Yorkshire Ken. They do, however, seem to mirror Boro’s trait of inconsistency. “Typical Yorkshire”. The one thing ...

Looking forward to seeing how Watmore performs. The short term contract represents a low risk and probably reflects the current financial reality plus...

@original-fat-bob and Ken Just catching up with the blog after a few days absence. I, too, was in A&E at JCUH on Sunday to resolve an unpleasant...
Plato/GHW “square pegging” seems to be a weakness in all of our recent Managers or do they see something the fans don’t understand? I’m undecided ...
Forgot to add that, like all fans, I want to see exciting football but that doesn’t mean goals at all cost. I think back to the 0-0 game against Bourn...
Interesting reading NW’s comments about modern defenders. I totally agree. Too many soft goals and free kicks in dangerous areas result from playing ...
@borophil Don’t want to turn this into a saga. I stated that I was a long-standing Labour supporter and my criticism referred to their performance l...
@borophil I would accept your argument were it not for the fact that I saw nothing during the 13 years that Labour were in power. The calls for an...
RR and GHW I have to own up to helping to vote in our first Conservative MP for Redcar and Cleveland. I’m no fan of Boris but Corbyn was never...
@original-fat-bob I also noticed that Leo seemed to be missing. Is he a COVID victim or has NW eased him out?
I “pledged to renew” and, like Clive, got lucky(?) in the ballot, a high probability when you subsequently discover only 2500 did so. I felt I was ...
Can’t disagree with any of that really. As I said last week, we don’t have full backs who can defend and we don’t have a left footed CB, so neither ...
