OFB, sounds like a scary experience and another problem of covid taking up most of the NHS bandwidth - hopefully your heart will soon be back on the pace and they can give you a slot. Also, best wishes to Steely and Mrs Peters on their recoveries too - it sounds like quite a few of the Diasboro are beginning to creak as we roll on through the years!

@k-p-in-spain

Thanks for your good wishes and best wishes to your better half.

At just turned 71, this is my first experience with proper ill health so I consider myself very fortunate. I hope not to trouble the NHS again for a long time if possible.

Thanks also to Werder and other well wishers.

Team News...

Trying to work out the formation tonight and it looks like a 3-5-2 with Tav as left wing-back in place of Bola - perhaps Roberts is playing behind Britt. It's hard to see it being a back four as there's no obvious left-back other than possibly Tav.

Prediction: Given that Boro have performed well against the teams at the top it's hard to go for anything but a Boro win - though I'm still not convinced we'll let loose with goals so maybe just a 1-0 with another for Saville!

Good morning from Oz and firstly best wishes to our diasboro invalids. It sounds as if it has been a tricky day or so and I look forward to everyone making a full recovery.

Hard to know what to make of the team as picked other than Tavernier as left wing back. I would have thought that NW might have given Coulson a shot in that slot. Maybe he reckons that we will have more possession than usual and so the extra attacking flair of Tavernier will help bolster the attack.

Anyway, let's hope for a good result. I can see Assombalonga getting one tonight.

UTB

@k-p-in-spain

Best wishes to Mrs P. Hope she continues her good recovery. She has had more than her fair share of health concerns in recent times.

As expected Coventry well organised and making it difficult for us.  That being said we have been laborious and our decision making and execution in the final third has been poor.  It is one of those games where we make one silly mistake and lose.  😎

@powmillnaemore.  Thanks for your best wishes. That's two ops in two years, if she needs another one next year then I am expecting a freebie! 🤣😎

A first half in which Boro's lack of guile in the final third has been exposed by a Coventry team that look surprisingly well organised at the back given how many they've conceded. Boro not really playing with much width since the wing-backs switched as both want to cut inside - wouldn't be surprised to see changes out wide perhaps a chance for Coulson to use his pace and put Spence back on the right.  A poor first 45 to be honest.

Coventry parked the bus but we got the job done. Fry was excellent.

Was it two assists from Browne? The first one was an excellent goal - one of the best seen for a while. Fabulous.

Up the Boro!

I was beginning to think it was going to end up 0-0 but Britt finally received the kind of ball he rarely gets and finished well, which was perfectly weighted by Morsy. It was bonus to get the second in time added as Coventry left the back door open. Overall, the performance exposed the weakness of Boro's attacking quality and again far too many balls from midfield went back to the keeper, which allowed Coventry time to organise defensively as another punt from Bettinelli started the process again. The back three played well again but I'd be tempted to give Howson MOM as he was one of the few who kept reading the ball and attempting to drive he team forward. Up to 7th now and only two points off second spot and credit to Warnock and the players for becoming contenders again.

Well, the Gazette writes the assists were coming from Morsy and Howson. Well, I better have new glasses...

But I will first chech what RR says. I trust him more than the Gazette. Up the Boro!

A competent display. You can only beat the team in front of you and Coventry were poor offering little threat going forward although Tavernier made a timely block at 0-0.

The 3 central defenders looked impressive and made defending look easy although as already stated they offered little threat.

Good to see Assombalonga get his first goal of the season.

Coulson looked as though he was trying too hard and consequently  lost the ball.

It seems the biggest improvement is the organisation of the team and team spirit - thanks to NW and his assistants.

Not a good game to watch apart from the result. Coventry defended with 2 rows of 4 whenever we attacked and for a lot of years we have struggled to break through in these sort of games. This time however we succeeded in scoring and the second goal was a bonus and calmed my nerves as I didn't feel sure we wouldn't concede a late sucker goal. Our defence has tightened up a lot compared to last season. Dijksteel does his job quietly and efficiently but I think, with his moves upfield, McNair just pipped Fry for man of the match. We still need to give the striker(s?) better service. NW certainly seems to know how to get the best out of our depleted squad.

Pleased to read that fellow bloggers are somehow fighting off their health problems.
