I’m always intrigued by the number of idioms we English use everyday, especially “out of sight, out of mind”. I imagine foreigners might translate that as “blind and insane”.

The French equivalent would be, “loin des yeux, loin du cœur”, best translated as  “away from the eyes, away from the heart”

And the German is so close to the English as to be not really worth translating:  aus dem Auge ("eye") aus dem Sinn (normally "sense", "meaning" or "understanding", but also, in certain circumstances, "mind"), while the Spanish is arguably a bit more imaginative:   ojos que no ven, corazón que no siente ("eyes which don't see, (a) heart which feels nothing").

@exmil - Chuba didn't come through our Academy, then loaned out only to return in glory. But yes, after a spell elsewhere, he is a much better or at least a more effective player this season than we could have hoped before.
