Just read that Saville is missing due to a family emergency and that's why there are only six subs - hope it's not too serious and best wishes to George Saville and his family.

@k-p-in-spain

My thoughts exactly, KP. We’ve been so solid this season but Morsy and Saville have been a huge part of that and without them, today could be a struggle. If we can manage to contain without those two I’ll be seriously impressed.

Great opportunity for Wing but I fear he’s being asked to do things that don’t come naturally for him.

We might need to score a couple today.

Well organised and disciplined display again, making the opposition look very ordinary.  Still lacking quality in the final third which could prove costly.  Need more from Wing, Coulson and Spence when they are on the ball.  😎

Well it's not been a similar type game to what we saw at Blackburn with very few opportunities created by either side and no corners for Boro. At least we've seen a good high-energy hard-working display, particularly in midfield despite the lack of Saville but not much quality in the final ball. Coulson has shown good pace and a good first touch but hasn't found the quality with his passing. A few signs of linking up but nothing yet to indicate a possible 2-2 prediction is likely...

Well that was more of a real 0-0 than the last one and it was a game of really no clear-cut chances. Boro of course worked hard and prevented Brentford from playing their normal game but Neil Warnock's mean couldn't quite get it together going forward despite trying  to work an opportunity. Some good performances, especially from Tavernier, Howson and Bola but the MOM for me was Dijksteel, who literally ran himself into the ground and showed great composure on the ball. Ten games unbeaten and Boro have built a great platform in what is a very tight league - we just need to find a way to score goals!

A good point but it could have been so much more.  Brentford were nothing special and Ivan Toney hardly got a kick and was well shackled by Dale Fry.  The midfield did better than I expected.

Having survived a couple of scares we failed again to show composure in and around the Brentford penalty area.  Akpom had the best chance but failed to hit the target.  Free kicks and corners were poor and the extra work on these that NW talked about in the EG clearly did not pay dividends and needs more work. MoTM for me was Marc Bola

We are in a better position than many of us could have expected at this stage of the season and we now have two weeks to try and get everyone rested and fit.

NW and his team are doing a very good job but still have the hardest bit of the puzzle to solve, how to get us to put the ball in the opposition net more often! 😎

Just shows how far we have reached if we are unhappy with a point from Brentford!

I felt sorry for the home team occationally. So well our defence and especially the midfield played and set the tempo. We make the opposition looking poor. Very poor.

Absolutely loves this season. My MoM was Dijksteel. Up the Boro!

Well that’s an excellent point for me and I was very impressed with how we contained one of the most dangerous attacks in the league, making them look pretty ordinary despite missing some key midfield enforcers.

Terrific run between international breaks. Great credit to the players, manager and coaching staff.

One thing for sure, we have nothing to fear in this league. Its in the hands of the players how successful they want to be. NW has shown them they way, now its up to them.

Great result with great performances.

Not overly impressed with Wing to be honest.

What about poor Roberts. Is NW still being careful with him. Could have put him on today instead of Johnson. Hope he gives the lad some game time after the break. But other than that NW and his assistants doing a fantastic job. Putting smiles on our faces to dampen what is going on with virus.

Malcolm, I have to agree about Wing in my opinion he is a Div 1 player at best and most of the people I know agree. I was worried today when I saw him starting and no Saville or Morsy.

We lost narrowly at Watford and since then we have played away at QPR, Bristol City (won), Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers, Brentford without losing. At home we have beaten Barnsley, Coventry, Forest while drawing with Bournemouth and Reading. I think everyone is happy and somewhat surprised with 18 points from that set of fixtures with the limited squad we have and to be 1 point outside the playoffs, while 4 points behind the leader. Agreed that it could have been even better if we had put away some of the chances we have made, so there is a lot of room for improvement especially in the last third but we are gradually getting stronger game by game. At basically a quarter way through the season with the strength of the squad we started with and the performances I have witnessed I am happy with the state of play.

 Come on BORO.

To be in the position we are currently is very good, we all know that scoring goals is costing us. So it is disappointing  to see criticism of any player that NW tries. Whoever comes in is a lot of matches behind the others and will need time to catch up. Meanwhile there are players in on a permanent basis who bear a charmed life. One of the aforementioned actually saw off Bamford, it cost us a promotion playoff, but still he saw him off. So a little caution would be advised when showing any sympathy to a failing striker, it is never advisable.

Plato, my opinion of Wing is not just based on this season but since his arrival. Yes he has scored a couple of good goals from outside the box but in my opinion he is easily pushed off the ball, does not really go into a tackle, hardly ever heads the ball and has limited ability. I hope one day he makes me eat my words on a consistent basis but I think he will be sold at the first opportunity, again it is only my opinion others may differ.

 Come on BORO.

I see Shef Wed have sacked Gary Monk and one of the favourites to replace him is Tony Pulis.

 Come on BORO.
