As we wait for the decision.
Ref Spygate 2 I must admit that I am doubtful that Southampton will be thrown out of the competition.
What has happened is that there is now a feeling of resentment between both sets of fans caused by the management of The Saints this will rumble on and on for years now unfortunately and the spirit of sportsmanship lost forever.
its good to know that true feelings for sport and the feelings of others are so well respected on this blog .

A great post and reminds me of my youth
SEX DRUGS AND ROCK AND ROLL !
I only managed the rock and roll part as my youth was somewhat unblemished !
Altjough I dis share a dressing room with a female rock star who stripped to her underwear ( ahem ! But that’s another story !
OFB
I understand the "hearing" is being held remotely by Zoom or similar. That should have enabled it to be arranged with more speed than if a hearing room or chamber had been required. Not that you would have thought that because most glaciers seem to move faster than the EFL. I have heard nothing as yet so no doubt people disappointed with the outcome will post messages if any white smoke is seen rising from the chimney. More exciting/excruciating than The Traitors when packages containing powder are thrown onto a fire to indicate whether each member of the remaining "players" wants to share the pot of money or go for the lot (delete as appropriate).
Yes. To agree further with OFB, it is an absolulte travesty.
Like I alluded to in my last post, it is Boro that is going to be the "bad boy" from all this. Just like no one in Derby (or anyone else for that matter) seems to be able to recognise that what SG did in respect of Derby cheating was the correct thing to do. It was his (SG's) fault Derby County's very existence was threatened, nothing to do with the corrupted ownership they had.The same will happen again.
And as for Hull (and arguably Wrexham, as I have also mentioned previously) this is none of their doing and yet they are effectively being penalised as well What on earth was the individual at the EFL on that made him/her think allowing ticket sales to go ahead when we don't know if the game will take place at all, let alone who might be playing in it.
The only right thing to do is to cancel the game, elevate Hull and then take the right amount of time to properly establish the extent of the punishement to Soton (given that Soton has not denied the core allegation) and then convene a properly constitued investigation into the individuals that have been identified and that may then need to be sanctioned.
Even if Boro is awarded the semi-final result, I am not sure I would be able to take much joy out of the ensuing game against Hull anyway.
OFB is so right. As with Derby, so it will be with Soton that for years to come there will be an unpleasant edge to any interaction between our fans and theirs, itself a recipe for future public disorder and potentially violence.
The EFL should be ashamed.
PS. Rant over.
Whilst there has been much comment/anger about the speed at which the EFL is working and concern as to the outcome as far as Boro is concerned, I do have a degree of sympathy for the EFL as to the difficult position they are in.
It is incumbent upon them to adhere to their own regulations as failure to do so could result in themselves being charged by one or other club for non adherence to their rule book.
Normally charges of this nature are expected to be responded to within 14 days but shorter timescales can be applied as deemed appropriate, which they have done so in this instance.
It may be that given the panel’s existing commitments and the need to provide time for the accused to investigate and respond, today was the earliest the panel could reasonably be convened. As to their judgement and recommended penalty we await the outcome to see if our fears and concerns are borne out.
At this stage, it is probably fairer to direct our anger at Southampton as it is they who have created this unholy mess. 😎
@k-p-in-spain That’s a very fair response. We mustn’t lose sight of who the Sinners are in all this.
SHE WAS AND STILL IS A STAR !
VERY PETITE AND A GREAT VOICE
BUT I DONT WANT TO SHOUT ABOUT IT !
PS
Our drummer was still shaking Tao much as we went on stage
That it took three songs before he could play his drums to the right rhythm !

I’ll bet she’d take that - might relight her fire?

ITV reporting Southampton have been thrown out of play offs! 😊😊😊😊😎😎😎
Did not expect that at all
UNBELIEVABLE
Tommy Conway must be doubly gutted. I feel very sorry for him.
I think many of us, self included, owe the EFL an apology for believing they would not do the right thing. 😎
It is going to be a rush to sort tickets out although typically, I have made other plans for the weekend and a 430 doesn’t make it any easier. Sadly my local pub doesn’t show sports at all, doesn’t have a permanent TV (well apart from the World Cup) so I will either have to by a Now TV pass or drive a few miles.
This may be somewhat unusual although in the circumstances, I am not sure I want us to win since we will always have an asterisk against our name with the view of a lot of other supporters that we didn’t deserve to be there.
@k-p-in-spain - Likewise although Soton can still appeal I think.
However, I do feel that we don’t entirely deserve to be there but that’s football for you.
Well that was unexpected news and having just read that Guardian article it appears Southampton have admitted to spying on Oxford and Ipswich too and have been deducted 4 points for next season - I guess it means no appeal and Boro now play the final on Saturday.
Just how Boro sell tickets and supporters plan how to get there in less than three days is anyone's guess?
Hurrah! Justice done.

Up the Boro!
I think we do deserve to be at Wembley. If the spying hadn’t been found out then maybe you could argue that it didn’t make a difference but once it was discovered it must have affected KH’s preparations and may well have had an impact on the players.
I do find it amusing that the other examples of them doing it apparently didn’t lead to Southampton wins.
.... and busy revising their shopping list as I writeI am sure our recruitment team have all the players to suit KH's methods lined up already 😉
The outcome according to the Beeb:

I'm stunned!
