@exmil - EXMIL CHALLENGE 2023 - PART 3.
Well, here goes (I normally try to work out the results, then type them wrongly by putting in the details of the team on the line above, etc).
Burnley (91) - WWDDW (102)
Sheff U (79) - DDWDW (88)
Luton (74) - WLDW (81)
BORO (71) - WWWW (83)
Millwall (65) - WWDD (73)
Blackburn (63) - DLDDD (67)
Coventry (62) - DWWL (69)
PNE (62) - DWLD (67)
Sund'land (61) - DLDD (64)
Norwich (61) - WWDW (71)
WBA (60) - LWDDW (68)
Try as I might, I cannot get Boro up to 2nd place. But pity poor Blackburn and their fixtures all against fellow promotion/play-off rivals.
I will provide my address for the Wooden Spoon to be delivered, later...
@clive-hurren - Clive, I think you have put only 4 results/games for Blackburn to play but others have 5. THAT IS NOT TO SAY THAT I HAVEN'T MADE MY OWN MISTAKES....
Exmil
Here‘s my selection. Many thanks for all your efforts.
Burnley (91) W W W D W (104)
Shef Utd (79) W W D D W (90)
Luton (74) W W W W (86)
Boro (71) W L W W (80)
Millwall (65) W W W D (75)
Blackburn (63) D L L D (65)
Coventry (62) D W W L (69)
Preston (62) D W D D (68)
Sunderland (61) L D W D (66)
Norwich (61) W W L W (70)
WBA (60) D D L W L (65)
Clive you are missing a Blackburn fixture as pointed out by Forever Dormo !
Come on BORO.
EXMIL CHALLENGE 2023 - Part 2 - League Table
Before I check entries for Part 3, I thought I would publish the league table after Part 2:
1. Ian Gill (92) 10,8,4,8,6,10,7,10,7,10 = 80 = 172
2. jarkko (93) 9,8,4,7,7,7,7,10,9,7 = 75 = 168
3. Martin Bellamy (79) 9,8,4,10,4,9,10,8,8,8 = 78 = 167
4. lenmasterman (91) 9,7,5,9,4,8,7,8,6,8 = 71 = 162
5, Norfolk and Boro (88) 8,9,6,8,2,7,10,7,7,8 = 72 = 160
6. Andy R (85) 8,8,6,8,3,10,10,7,8,6 = 74 = 159
7. Powmill Naemore (80) 9,8,4,10,4,9,10,8,8,8 = 78 = 158
8. Selwynoz (85) 8,8,4,9,2,8,10,5,6,10 = 70 = 155
9. exmil (84) 8,7,4,8,6,8,7,9,6,6 = 69 = 153
10. deleriad (84) 10,8,4,6,3,8,7,8,6,6 = 66 = 150
11. KP in Spain (77) 8,8,6,7,4,8,9,10,5,7 = 72 = 149
12. Clive Hurren (79) 8,8,6,7,2,7,9,5,8,9 = 69 = 148
13. Forever Dormo (83) 9,7,2,8,0,7,8,5,7,6 = 59 = 142
14. Peasepudinperth (76) = 76
Ian Gill has taken over the lead with jarkko a close second but watch out as Martin Bellamy has shot up from 12th to 3rd and has his eye on automatic promotion. In the other playoff places are lenmasterman, Norfolk and Boro and Andy R, even though I am in 9th, I don’t count myself out of the playoffs. Meanwhile after points deduction for failing to enter Part 2, Peasepudinperth looks doomed for the drop, whilst Forever Dormo looks destined to join him but it is tight for the third spot between deleriad, KP in Spain and Clive Hurren. With so much to play for at both ends of the table, Part 3 predictions are so important, therefore I will delay checking entries until tomorrow afternoon, in case people want to make last minute changes (I am generous to a fault 😂).
Good luck everyone, especially the Boro.
P.S. If anyone notices any mistakes please let me know.
I cannot blame anybody else than Woody that I am behind Mr Gill. Suprisingly we lost two matches and conceded more goals in three games than the previous 14 matches. With better defending, I would have kept my place!
But at least Boro are still in top four in the table.
I hope we finnish strongly. I try to do my forecast later today. I am in the Netherlands for two nights for business.
Up the Boro!

jarkko as long as you make the Tuesday deadline of 18:30 (19:30 in the Netherlands) it will be fine 👍
Come on BORO.
Exmil,
Here's my guesses for Part 3:

Many thanks.
@exmil - No-one can criticise my skills in prediction. I accurately predicted my lowly position and, in my Part 3 entry, I referred to the possibility of the Wooden Spoon. It is the most I will win here!
@Jarkko - The Wooden Spoon is a (usually) mythical prize, often referred to in English-speaking countries, which represents the last in a race or competition. Its origin is in the Mathematics Department of Cambridge University where the person getting a First Class Honours with the highest score of the year in the Tripos (Degree) exams in Maths would be known as the Senior Wrangler, and the students started to give a "Wooden Spoon" award to the Maths student who scored the lowest marks which still qualified for a 3rd Class Honours Degree. This started in the 1700s and continued until 1909 when the way the results were announced made it difficult to identify who had the lowest 3rd Class Honours marks. The spoons themselves became an ornate and very large award and were, no doubt, highly prized as Young Montmorency went off to join the Foreign Office or Young Jolyon went off to his father's coffee company in Brazil, or to hlep manage Grandpa's estate in Scotland. There are 5 now in the possession of various Colleges in Cambridge (1 at Emmanuel College from 1889, 2 at Corpus Christi from 1895 and 1907, 1 at Selwyn from 1906 and the last one awarded at St John's from 1909) and it is understood five still exist in private hands. If you look Wooden Spoon up on Wikipedia you will see how large and ornate the physical wooden spoon awarded became over time.
Additonally in the Lent Bumps and May Bumps (rowing races between College boats on the River Cam - they also have Bumps races in Oxford but we will not speak of that) the boat that catches up and "bumps" the boat in front of it, swaps places with that other boat for the 2nd day of the 4 day competition, so the boats now start off having exchanged places and, again, each boat tries to bump the boat in front of it the next day. A boat that bumps the boats in front of it on all 4 days, wins its "oars" (and the blades are usually painted up in the College colours, with the names and weights of all the crew and cox listed on it, and the names of the College boats which were successfully bumped). The boat that finishes at the top of the First Division on the river at the end of the 4 days ("Head of the River") also gets its oars even if they "rowed over" each day because there was no boat in front to bump and the boats behind it were not fast enough to catch up. Very prized possesions to be mounted on the office wall in the family firm headquarters behind the recipient's desk! But for each boat that bumps "up", another boat has been bumped "down", maybe getting relegated a divison in the process. The crew members of a boat bumped on all four days gets a Wooden Spoon).
Cheers, Dormo. I knew what wooden spoon meant but did not know the history of it. Now I hope someone would ask me that over here 😁.
And I know what is meant to be born with a silver spoon in the mouth. Even I was never born with one.
I come from poor family with five siblings. Luckily born in Finland where education is free and everyone can continue to Uni without anyone asking your background.
Up the Boro!
Geoff
My predictions

Shef Utd (79) W D W D D (88)

Two surprises, I suspect we will win at Luton – I picked that result based on my heart.
The big surprise is how tight it looks for 6th place.
Ian Gill
@exmil Just call me Boro3! Like our favourites, I’ve gone from relegation form to pushing for promotion. I’ve no idea how to explain my turnaround, although I’m certain it’s not divine intervention.
@exmil I’ve just noticed that my score appears to be incorrect - I think I should have 157 and not 167. I knew it was too good to be true. The Lord giveth, etc.
Sorry about my glitch. Revised predictions for Blackburn:-
D L L L D (65)
And thanks to Dormo for pointing it out as well!
Martin Bellamy, thanks for informing me and your honesty, here is the amended table:
