All the best @exmil - keep smiling and take things easy.
Brilliant news, in that the op is done and you are back home.
Take slow and easy and into the Riverside for the Bristol game.
@exmil welcome home. So pleased that all appears to have gone well for you and hoping all the best for your ongoing recovery. Re the showering thing....., its overrated anyway 😉
@exmil Wow glad to hear you’ve already been discharged and are back at home - certainly fits in with my theory of Teessiders being of strong constitution - all the best with your recovery
Great news exmil and I agree with you about both the Boro and life.
We played really well at Watford- played them off the park for most of the game- and could (and should) have been two goals up by half-time had we taken some gilt-edged chances.
In the first 15 minutes we had 90% possession. By my calculations that amounts to Watford- the home team let's no forget - having control of the ball for a minute and a half. That's the kind of away- team dominance that you just get between teams playing in the same division. It's the kind of equation you might find if a top Premier League side were playing a non-league team. And even that is stretching credulity.
We got the goal we deserved in the second half, but an unseasonably warm day in the sun saw us begin to tire as Watford brought on some fresh and talented subs, who produced a couple of excellent strikes to save their day, and produce a result that had every stunned Boro supporter wondering how the hell it had happened.
The silence by many of us on the blog this week has been the sound of us trying to process the whole experience. Denial is the first stage of grief and some of us haven't moved beyond that point yet.
I offer this small piece of consolation. Had the two teams swapped left backs then the Boro would have won by 4 or 5 goals.
A very disappointing result then, but lots for exmil and the rest of us to look forward to for the rest of the season. I certainly would not swap places with a supporter of either Watford or West Brom
Great news that you're back home so quickly. Take it easy and all the best for your recovery.

@exmil Yes, really great news and happy to hear you are back home. And I really hope you will keep on recovering to be back at the Riverside for the Brissol match.
I was at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium yesterday to see Finland play Ireland. Our Finn Azaz was starting the game and played up until the 70th minute. He played in his familiar nr 10 positition, but Ireland were terrible in the first half.
Azaz did not make many mistakes, but did not create much, either. He did not receive much of the ball. The Irish started the second half much brighter than Finland and pressed from the front. They got an equalizer they deserved and got a winner late in the match. A win was more than either team deserved, but also Finland had a couple of chances to win the match in the end, too.
I think Azaz has played better at Boro this season that he did for Ireland yesterday. I think Boro is a better team than Ireland and we get more balls to him than he did get for Ireland. Azaz had only one shot yesterday and it did not hit the target at all.
So he was a bit anonymous yesterday. But as I said earlier, he gets more of the ball at Boro and is much more effective playing CarrickBall than the Irish did.
Up the Boro!
There is an open and honest story of Aaron Connolly in the Echo. He has had a lot of problems with alcohol. I am impresssed he has talked about it.
Up the Boro!
So pleased that things have gone well for you and it’s situations like that which put things into perspective!
Football isn’t life and death no matter what Bill Shankly used to say !
Its great that you have a target to get back watching the Boro but take care.
Perhaps one option is to talk to the club and explain you’ve had an op and don’t want to be anywhere you can get crushed or in a crowd.
The best contact for this is Yvonne Ferguson who deals with customer liaison and would help you if you needed it?
I have her email details if you want them?
All the best

@Exmil. That’s excellent news and so pleasing that you are up about and home so quickly; long may your recovery continue on an upward trajectory and hopefully the Boro can provide a tonic by beating Bristol City comfortably.
Just learnt today that I am off to Imed hospital Valencia, to have my prostate removed on the 22nd of this month. Fingers crossed that my recovery goes as well as yours. 😎
Best wishes KP. I hope it all goes well
KP,
The supporters are with you. Get yourself sorted, get well and look after yourself. We're all with you.
ATB and UTB,
John
Years ago when I had my (first) knee replaced I went to see Boro play Chelsea and I have to say they were brilliant with me, a lift with an escort to help me, lovely lady too.
We lost although JFH rattled their post and the supporters were wonderful too. Exmil just ask for help.
Take care and look after yourself, these are important days.
ATB and UTB,
John
Many thanks for all the support and best wishes from my friends across the Diasboro, I very much appreciate you all.
My main concern/aim is to ensure that I feel well enough to watch the Sheffield Utd game from my hospital bed! 😎
@k-p-in-spain I wish you the best for your upcoming operation, I hope you have the same level of nursing staff that I enjoyed and you recover quickly.
Come on BORO.
@k-p-in-spain All the best for your up-coming operation. I hope all goes smoothly and you will be back on the beach soon. Up the Boro!
Best wishes KP. Hope all goes well.
@k-p-in-spain all the best for your procedure coming up in a couple of weeks. My. Are we not quite a collection! So lucky for us to live in these times when such surgeries are commonplace and with such high success rates. Both of you, @k-p-in-spain and @exmil take good care and remember. A good recovery is a marathon not a sprint, so don't be rushing anything too much.
An honourable mention for Boro in the Beeb article heaping praise on Ben Doak for his performance in Scotland's defeat by Croatia in the Nations League match yesterday:

Best wishes to both exmil & KP.
Exmil and KP,
Make sure you listen to those nurses. A very senior nurse who only worked on the nightshift gave me a mighty hug when I was leavingl to go home after three weeks and said to me, "John, just you remember Doctors cure you but nurses make you well". I now understand what she meant after almost two years. fantastic people.

John
@k-p-in-spain Somewhat shocked to hear of you issue KP and upcoming operation
I am sure all will go well and you will be out and about in no time.
As with Exmil, take care and do as you are told.
Well the International break is over for me after attending the England game at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki yesterday.
But I know Ben Doak will be in the Scotland squad on Tuesday. I read from Stircrazy's link, that he played well on Saturday, when he started for the first time for the National team. I hope he will be rested, though and will come back without injuries.
Well, it looks like it is time to start looking forward to the Boro vs. Bristol City match now. I think we have more players available and hope we will start finally score some goals like last season. But at least we have improved in our defensive play now. Up the Boro!
Bristol City manager Liam Manning will take a leave of absence due to the passing of his recently born son Theo John Manning, Chris Hogg will take charge during his absence.
Come on BORO.
That is sad news indeed and my condolences go to Mr. Manning, his wife and his family at what must be a very difficult time. I trust that the Middlesbrough faithful will be respectful on Saturday.Bristol City manager Liam Manning will take a leave of absence due to the passing of his recently born son Theo John Manning, Chris Hogg will take charge during his absence.

Agreed. Some things are bigger than football and it would be a really positive gesture to acknowledge his loss.
Sorry to hear about your health problems KP and I hope your upcoming operation goes well and you make a speedy recovery and are soon fit and well again.
@exmil So, so horrible news. Sincere condolences to his family. I am sure the Boro fans will give their respect and support in full on Saturday.
Teesside Live reported Bristol City saying:
“Liam will take a period of absence, and all football duties will be carried out by Chris Hogg. We ask that the privacy of Liam and his family is respected during this time.”
Hogg, who will take charge in Manning's absence and is highly likely to lead Bristol City at the Riverside on Saturday is actually from Middlesbrough. Initially in York City's academy, he joined Ipswich Town where he first met Manning before Tony Mowbray signed him for Hibernian. He described the Boro legend as one of his heroes.
After retiring, Hogg would link up with Manning again as a coach in the Ipswich academy. He had a period at Newcastle United before joining Manning at MK Dons and following him to Oxford and Bristol City as his assistant.
Up the Boro!
