OFB told us that Exeter City is nicknamed the Grecians.

As I had never heard that before I googled to find out. As often is the case, there is not exact info available. But I think the article of the local newspapwer is the best we can trust:

https://www.theexeterdaily.co.uk/news/sport/why-are-exeter-city-nicknamed-grecians

I hope the Boro will overcome the Grecians tonight. Up the Boro!

@exmil.  Thanks Exmil.  Unfortunately both these streaming platforms require a subscription.

I suppose I will have to see if anyone provides a free re stream. 😎

@pedro.  Yes it is on Exeter's iFollow but it is only commentary.

Competition rules do not allow video streaming in the UK or abroad, apart from two matches per round; the two all PL clashes which are being shown tomorrow night.

I may well have to settle for the Riverside Live commentary.😎

Boro, ...will be big favourites to progress to the last eight for the first time in two decades. ...

Did that come from the Gazette Malcolm?

Boro has been in the Quarter Finals 4 times over the two decades since we lifted the trophy in Cardiff.

Won't see the game tonight as I am out regular on a Tuesday night. But good luck to Boro.

@malcolm

It is shocking really isn't it. Purporting to be the  voice of Teesside ... very little subject matter expertise at all.

@malcolm of course...it has just dawned on me. They are looking into the future and predicting this is the first of very many QFs to come in the next two decades!! 😅

Many thanks OFB for another detailed and packed opener and I'd agree with your analysis that we should see quite a few changes to the starting line-up tonight to keep players fresh for the weekend. I'd like to see Dijksteel get a start as he should be the man to replace Smith for me and also it's an opportunity for Clark to get back on the playing trail.

Given we missed Hackney big time at the weekend not sure if I'd risk him tonight but not sure what the other options are if Howson's legs are feeling their age - maybe a youngster given a chance?

This is another match I'll probably won't see but glad I missed Stoke in the end - though I'm not 100 percent convinced Boro will win this one as it's a long trip with most likely a team with quite a few changes.

Anyway, I suspect even the Proclaimers might think twice about walking 334.5 miles to get to this one and would probably look for a dodgy stream instead - though sounds unlikely to to be a hit...

Just to add apologies to Jed for missing his second post while I was away to approve it and allow him to post live

Although after looking at my admin console, it was your third post - it looks like I have to manually change the status of each new member to 'Registered' from 'First Post' to let them post live so I'll look out for that in future.

Exeter lost 6 consecutive games before their home draw last Saturday.

indeed, they have only won 1 game in the last 10 - against Luton in the last round of this cup.

Many Clubs would have sacked their manager  with this run of poor results although they’ve had a lot of injuries.

So defeating Boro would be a major upset given Boro’s recent run of victories.

Its a fingers crossed night, following Boro’s poor performance on Saturday.

I just hope we “go for it” from the off- no point in playing cautiously against lower opponents.

I get BEIN Sports 1 and ESPN+ on my fire stick with an app I use, from which I watch every away fixture, I am at the Riverside for every home match. I will also check on my iPad on the site “Smoggies on Tour” to see if it is also on there but it won’t appear until a minute or so after kickoff and it free, I will post if it is.

Come on BORO.

Would you Adam & Eve it?  The Grecians bag the first goal in the 13th minute!  🙁

HH loses his man, pass into the middle and what a strike. One nil down after 13 minutes

Boro have most of the possesion, but oh sooo slow, too much tippy tappy and poor passing.

Not going according to the script, so far.  Wildschutt as an Exeter substitute? He'll probably play a blinder....

Not Boro's best First Half there, against the weakest team, in its worst form, that Boro is likely to meet all season.

Well that was a continuation of Saturday.  Had the majority of possession but passing at times is awful and build up play is pedestrian. It looks more like a practice game than a cup tie.

Exeter had one shot and scored we don’t look like scoring.

If this continues then “Typical Boro” is alive and kicking. 😎
