A bit of a slow start but Boro got better as the half went on and take a deserved lead into the break. Would like to see us keep a clean sheet here.

@werdermouth I’d say it’s 4-2-3-1 with Arfsten at right back. I started the preview for West Brom today and included how two footed Arfsten looks...

@selwynoz I had the same thought, Selwyn. Potentially having one fewer player in attacking positions won’t make it any easier to open up a packed de...

Thanks Dormo, especially for doing this preview at relatively short notice. Being honest I’ve limited interest in this game in itself but Boro could...

Many thanks Jarkko, a great opener with a story or two woven in. I'm really looking forward to the match now. A few have said they'll take a draw no...

Thats why the goals prevented stat is more useful as it just judges effectiveness rather than purely raw saves. As I say, though Brynn is learning and...

Thanks MW

I’m confident that Vitek will prove to be an excellent addition by the end of the season. Was yesterday his first appearance of any kind for us? I d...

Much better second half - it couldn’t have become much worse to be honest! The subs definitely made a difference against a Lincoln side who had run ...

Oh dear. We’ve been outfought by a limited side so far. Desperate for some quality on the ball. How fit is McGree?

If all it takes is a bunch of big lads to beat us then we might as well pack in now. It’s a shame some players are missing for us today but nonethel...

We might be forced to play Malanda in midfield again tomorrow as cover for Morris. Not ideal but at least it does give us that extra height when def...

Welcome back, Dormo. You mentioned the preview writers roster - perhaps you’d like to take the next round of the Carabao Cup? No probs if not but ...

There was briefly a chap around that Warnock era called Olusanya who I think might have come from non-league with Isaiah Jones but I don’t recall him ...

Superb, Werder. Let’s hope there are no unforeseen twists at the weekend and we get something like “reds 3”.

First choice XIs are somewhat a thing of the past in the modern squad game but if we had one, is it this: ——————Vitek——————— Brittain Jones Malan...

@jarkko So sorry to read that, Jarkko. Very sad news. Condolences to you and your family. Football really isn’t very important sometimes.

Fantastic season opener, Selwyn. When the random number generator plucked your name out first up I knew we were in the safest of hands. So it proved a...

@clive-hurren Apologies, Clive, I completely misread your earlier comment and avoided the 19th Sept for you, which on reflection wasn’t what you as...

Thanks again to everyone who has volunteered to be a preview writer this season, and welcome aboard the roster to Chris from Barlby. We had eight wh...

Don't worry about it, Len - I think we have enough so that it's only 5 or so matches for each anyway. We'll keep you in reserve for our long ...

Thanks everyone - much appreciate the responses. Aiming to put it together today or tomorrow so if there’s any more for any more, please shout up no...

Chelsea have agreed a fee of £117m for Morgan Rogers 💸 💸 💸

If Hackney had more than one year left on his contract then £16.5m as a starting price would be £5m+ too low for me. As is it is, I can understand it.

Hackney sale to Everton now reported as £16.5m with a further £8m in add-ons.

@pedro I disagree slightly on Reece James - I actually think he is an excellent all round fullback, attacking and defending. If we were talking a...

@powmillnaemore   Hope it’s nothing too serious, Powmill, and all the best.
