Contributions to Diasboro are welcomed by all as all the posters on this site have been proven over the past few years to be like minded and reasonable. Whether we are sane or not because we follow and support the Boro is a different question !

A sense of gratitude to Werder is felt by all of us in the manner in which he established this site from the ashes of Anthony Vickers Untypical Boro.

It was obviously far too much for one individual to carry out and Redcar Red, Andy R, Selwynoz and myself are quite prepared to share the load for next season.

If anyone else would like to have a go at doing the leader then please shout out as they would be more than welcome to contribute as this site is for all of us.

I received a nice note from Australia this morning which I would like to share with everyone together with my response.

Hello Bob

This is just a quick note to thank you for all of your contributions. Being based in Sydney does make it hard to keep up with the details of all things Boro and to have someone such as yourself who is able to give a real sense of the club is worth a great deal to a far flung supporter such as myself. The work that you, Redcar Red and Werdermouth have done is wonderful. Please pass on my thanks to them and I hope that Werdermouth and family are doing OK.

I’m not sure if it would be appropriate - or even possible - for me to do an intro next season from the other side of the world but would give it a go if you are pushed.

In the meantime, keep well and keep safe and I look forward to one day being able to travel again and having a real Diasboro get together.

Best wishes

Selwynoz

Hi Selwynoz

Thank you for your email which is very much appreciated.

I have included Redcar Red and AndyR in this email so that they are aware that our efforts do not go unnoticed and are liked by all Diasborians throughout the globe.

The effort made by Werder in establishing this site was Herculean and it eventually proved to be too much for one person to maintain and hopefully we can persuade him to return.

It would be great if you could do a lead article throughout the season and of course a lot of ex Boro players still play in Australia or live there permanently.

Peter Brine from the 73/74 Jack Charlton era owns and runs “Salt” a famous restaurant in Perth which I know is a long way from you but I do have his contact details.

Jim Platt (ex Boro goalkeeper) has a son who lives in Oz and frequently travels with his wife Sharon to visit and I have their contact details also.

With other contacts I have there it’s possible to have an Oz division of Diasboro so that you do not feel so alone.

I know from personal experience of living away thousands of miles from Boro how cut off you can feel and the friendly banter on the blog helps you keep in touch.

Just drop me a note when you fancy doing a preview and both RR and I are on Facebook as well.

Thanks again for your kind words

It seems a works ago that I made my one and only effort to a conversation starter, and Werder was a big help to edit my composition about La La Land.

I will see about coming up with at least one more essay to throw into the mix. I have a couple of ideas that might work  but just have to find that previous commodity- time.

My little rhymes about people come to me fairly easily, but a proper essay does demand a little more from my little grey cells, but I will certainly make an effort.
