Thanks, Bob.  You're well ahead of the Gazette.  As ever.

Len, to be fair to the gazette, as at 12:39 there is nothing in the pipeline at the moment as we need movement out before anymore incomings, the rest is just speculation. The last thing we need is to be foul of FFP, I suspect that any business will not happen until late tonight if any happens.

Come on BORO,

Marcus Browne has left the club. Oxford have confimed officially that they have signed him on a permanent deal.

So Boro have room for one coming in. Let's see what happpens there and if we hear anything on Ikpeazu's possible exit.

Up the Boro!

Rumours on Twitter Boro after another forward.

David Chidozie Okereke (born 29 August 1997) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serie A club Venezia, on loan from Club Brugge.

OFB

On the face of it, this doesn't appear a possibility as he already has played one game for Club Brugge this season before joining Venezia, which would seem to bar him under FIFA rules from playing for a third club in a season.

Hard to imagine Boro will sign a significant player today and perhaps only players as cover rather than a genuine starter.

Not including Ikpeazu, we currently have 5 strikers in Sporar, Watmore, Connolly, Balogun and Coburn.

The available midfield options also looks pretty full with Howson, Crooks, Tavernier, Payero and McGree.

Defence wise, there also appears to be enough bodies with Bamba, Peltier, Wood plus Hall.

Wing-backs may be short on cover in the next few months but anyone new won't be starting ahead of Jones and there seems to be reports of Coulson returning.

Perhaps a keeper but Lumley looks like he has recovered from his wobble so unless it's a proven keeper better than him I doubt we'll see more cover arriving.

Not sure about those Newcastle rejects mentioned but again there appears to be a queue in midfield.

So I'm expecting a quiet deadline day other than shifting those deemed surplus by Wilder!

jarkko I don’t think Browne was a listed player in the 25 man squad due to being injured at the beginning of the season.

You could be right. But had he stayed, we should have listed him now ...  Up the Boro!

Could be wrong, but.

We started with 23 added Taylor (24)

Added Collony, Balogun, McGree and Boyd~Munce (does he count?)

Lost Stojanoviv, Olusanya I think, Hernandez and now Browne, who was in the original 23.

So counting Boyd-Munce we are at 24 I think?

Add in Coulson possibly 25

Boyd Muncie was born in January 2000 therefore does not need to be registered as with Sol Brynn and Nathan Wood, also Boro can de- register any they choose to and register another player.

Rumours Boro trying to get Jamal Lewis on loan from Newcastle

Lewis could certainly be a decent prospect for left wing-back - he actually made the 2019-20 EFL team of the season when he played for Norwich. Liverpool even were reportedly in for him at one point before he joined Newcastle for around £15m. The only downside is that he's not played much this season so another short on match fitness - looking at his stats he started two games in December then played an hour against Leicester before picking up a hamstring injury against Liverpool and missed a few weeks and hasn't played since. Plus Newcastle have just signed Matt Targett from Villa as left-back so could be something in it.

OFB, Uche deal with Cardiff not done yet and players will be going to this club or another or back to the first club again until a deal is confirmed, just look at the Aubameyang farce which apparently is back on for him to move to Barcelona.

It was reported on “90 minutes” that Boro rejected an offer from Spurs for Spence of £12m plus add on’s as they are holding out for their valuation of £15m.

Jeff Hendrick to QPR?

According to the Daily Mail's Northern correspondent Craig Hope, Jeff Hendrick is looking likely to join QPR on loan.

Hendrick's name has been mentioned all day with Boro, but it's always been a case that incomings on Teesside depended on outgoings.

Boro are working on those exits still, but even then, Hendrick's name hasn't ever really been firmed up as far as Boro's genuine interest is concerned.

It could be that, needing a move away from Newcastle as he looks set to miss out on their squad list, his agent has used Boro as bait to get his player's name out there.

Sounds right now from the club suggest any incomings would be a curve ball, but you can never say never on transfer deadline day.

If Boro's interest in Hendrick was genuine, is the QPR move because Boro haven't been able to do their outgoings quickly enough? Or is it out there to try and prompt Boro to panic and make a move?

These are the things you always have to consider on deadline day.

As can be seen everything is not as it seems until the deal is confirmed.

Come on BORO.

Apparently Boro have relented to give the green light for Uche to join Cardiff on loan, as Cardiff didn’t want to do a permanent transfer.
