Ditto! In fact they offered me the same price over a longer term to tempt me back but they will get the boot if they try the same trick on renewal. I have taken the precaution of not activating auto renewal this time. 😎

After I canceled my automatic renewal NordVPN subsequent kept offering me better and better deals until they reached the same price as my previous subscription but I was already annoyed that whether it's banks, utilities or many other companies - existing customers get offered the worse deals and they rely on many people not noticing the price hikes!
I'm with you on that.
We were with the same ISP for 35 years and new customers got special deals, bundles and discounts, but loyal subscribers got nothing except annual increases. We changed providers, but that was a disaster, so we went back to the original one who was eager to give us a deal. Now, when the contract is up, instead of renewing, I ask to speak to the Retention Dept. and squeeze a better deal out of them than automatic renewal.
I hate this modern way of doing business, but if you don't look out for yourself, you'll get shafted all ends up.
@johnny-canuck I have a book in which I keep the cancellation numbers of companies I have subscriptions with. It usually, but not always, gets a result when calling them.
As werder and KP said, auto renewal is never rewarded. Always un-tick auto renewal. Although some companies, NordVPN is one, make it difficult to locate it.
Going back to imminent transfers, or not, one media outlet is saying MFC purchase of Ashley Phillips has stalled, due to negotiation disagreements.
The NE and the Gazette, also now saying the transfer has been paused due to incomplete negotiations.

I think that Castledine could make a big breakthrough. I can see McGree, Castledine and Conway starting games with Joseph, Whittaker, Sarmiento and Strelec as alternates or impact subs.
Its starting to look quite good. We still need some cover in midfield - unless Kante comes through - aa centre half and a possible replacement if Brittain gets injured. A flying winger would be pure luxury.
