@stircrazy

As an ex ref one of the things drummed into us whilst we were learning the ropes was what to do if the ball,went flat. I can confirm, it was not what the referee did yesterday.

in fact in the old days I’ve seen players get booked for picking the ball up and saying it’s flat

OFB

Thanks for that, Bob.  Good to see you having a busy posting session!  🙂

One thing I missed on Saturday, but have seen on the internet that there were two Hartlepool United flags being waved on the pitch to say thanks for letting us use their ground in 1986.

@original-fat-bob : Or maybe he is aware of the interest Wrexham has in the USA with its Hollywood owners. The result is a LOAD of kit sales and visits by Americans in the UK, increased coverage by American media and therefore commercial opportunities. As I think I might have mentioned before, not long ago Boro's shirt sponsor was a Pawnbrokers' Company.

Meanwhile lowly Wrexham, new to the Championship and not even in the EFL just over 3 years ago, has United Airlines on its shirts. United: one of the world's largest airlines. I'm sure that contract is a valuable one!  Interest from the USA can often be converted into dollars, and that interest could easily be sparked by Boro having a substantial contingent from the USA in the team.

@original-fat-bob -  I tried to send a reply, OFB, but it disappeared into the ether. I simply wanted to say I'm not sure your message sounded as reassuring as I'd like. But at least, at the Freeman, you should be looked after by top experts in the field. I offer my very best wishes.

Please let us know when you are due to go in.  Unless it's a kind of "The next appointments are booking in March 2027, mate!" situation!   Hopefully not.

I wasn’t too happy with the surgeon very dismissive. It appears that when you get to a certain age oldies get written off very easily.

JC They did the same thing last year and wouldn’t fit a stent. The freeman fitted one New Year’s Eve mind it took five hours !

I Still go to Heart failure clinic at JC EVERY 2 weeks and cardio rehab at Saltburn hospital every week so trying to do the best I can from my part..

Heave to call me OSB now

OFB, Great to hear from the Marton Oracle. It all sounds serious and puts my trials and tribulations in perspective.

Please keep on fighting and get better. I miss the repartee and fun posts, either way it's great to hear from you. I may be in Marton staying with a cousin in the early Spring/Summer next year so I'd be up for a quick chat if you like.

Meanwhile keep on keeping on!

All the very, very best.

@OFB.    I have posted a couple of times previously, the rumour still persists of an American based in Texas, interested in investing. Maybe rubbish, maybe not.

Forever Dormo,     despite of far greater crowds, Wrexham will easily top MFC turnover this season as they did last.

Yes, as everyone has said, great to hear from you again. And all the best for visiting Newcastle. If you missed it, we beat United in a friendly away during the international break.  😁

Anyway keep fit and looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you again.

Up the Boro!

STOKE CITY

Big game tomorrow but then all games are big games.
A win and the lofty League position and confidence is maintained.
A defeat and a slip down the League table with the doubts returning.

So win, lose ot draw we take the result and remind ourselves it’s a marathon and not a sprint we are playing.

As always, fingers crossed that we witness a good 90 minute performance in the knowledge that the result will take care of itself.

@philip-of-huddersfield

i agree with your post that it’s a marathon not a sprint but I have detected that a touch of steel has been injected into this team from last season.

The Boro defence looks more determined and I think making Brittain is an astute move and to hear him talk about the club,the team and the fans I think he will be our captain for a long time.

We have thought for a while that Boro have missed having a leader on the pitch since Howson left, well I think we may have found one!

Another 1 0 victory for Boro will do me thanks, it certainly worked for Big Jack and Karanka !

Great,opening header this blog is so lucky to have such talented writers!
