YEs, I know some people do that. But it will be hard.@jarkko. You could say that it is no different to the thousands of Teessiders that work away from home during the week, in the construction industry.
In fact Jarkko, back in the good old days, when I was just starting off, it was quite common for lots of men, say working in London or Scotland, to only be able to come home every SIX weeks. True.
I do not know if Carrick (or Mogga) stays two or three days in a row at their respected clubs at a time. Or do they spend time on their limousine cars every evening. If they do, they should have an apprentice player driving so they could work on the back seat. At least they could afford a chauffeur.
No wonder they last in a job less than two years on average and stay at home for a year before joining a club again.
Up the Boro!
Carrick also has a business in Newcastle upon Tyne which he visits and also has his charity foundation which he administers.
So it’s not just Manchester and Hurworth he visits !

Just read CJ´s update report from Carrick´s pre Sheffield pressor.
No real good news. Doak out for a few weeks more, but it could have been worse he said. Can somebody tell, how long is "a few weeks".
Why he keeps talking about Lenihan I do not know. We will be very lucky to see him again this season and in reality, MFC would be better doing a Smith deal with him. it is now looking the same with Howson, with his chances of a return and being able to slot into the team, must be very slim.
Let´s hope we don´t lose one of the CB´s, especially Fry with his recent issues.
The art of tackling seems to be disapering I'm wondering if it's these slippers they wear now,
Watched Pompey v shelf u, Pompey were all over them can't believe they didn't win
If we for once finally get at it, we will win, then again

I can’t work out what result we want from tomorrow’s WBA vs Blackburn game. Is a draw any good in the long run or are we better off if Rovers lose?
@martin-bellamy A draw would be the best, for me. On the basis that it keeps fifth and sixth in touch. Assuming we lose tomorrow night, but win our game against Stoke.
Of course we would also still have to win more in the run in, than the other teams around us. 🤣
I would always pick a draw because then the aggregate gain for the two teams is only two points which has to be better than someone getting three points.

@martin-bellamy. I am in the draw camp but with a win for us. Is that asking too much! 🤔😎
@mw-in-darwin I get the point that "loyalty" goes both ways. If the Board agrees you can buy/loan the players you wanted, with all the transfer fees/salary conditions that go along with that, the Board would understandably be extremely unhappy for the manager to want to talk to another club within days. If you've spent all the spare cash the club had, or increased the wages bill to pay for the loanees, the new man in charge won't even have the wriggle room on wages to get in players who are out of contract but could "do a job".
Meanwhile Blackburn at the time of typing stand 6th in the league and therefore in a Play-Off position whereas Derby stands 21st and equal on points with Hull in the last relegation position (BUT having played 2 more games than Hull). If the manager wanted to talk to a team in a higher league or much better placed in the same league, one could almost understand it...
Apparently Derby was the last club Eustace has played for and has an affinity with them.
Directors of a football club have to protect their investment and leaving a clause in a managers contract giving them the right to open contract discussions with another club is really asking for trouble isn’t it ??

Nearly kick-off time! Come on Boro!
Team News...
Starts for Iheanacho and Iling-Junior with Dede? on the bench
Dede is a young full back signed from Celtic in the window. Not sure if he is right or left footer.
Josh Dede is a right winger who can play at right full back, too, me thinks. Date of birth/Age: Jan 4, 2006 (19).
Finally a match to watch. Up the Boro!
Disappointed Fry is on the bench after the last game.
Quietly confident here in Perth.....
Just quiet here in Northern Germany...
@powmillnaemore and excited here in Southern Finland. Up the Boro!
@jarkko me too ! UTB!
The Blades draw first blood in the 32nd minute. 🙁
I think I have lost the confidently bit already, but very definitely it's all very quietly in our front room.
Very disjointed from us so far.

Again
Worst half of the season?

CJ:
Boro behind. It's been coming, but it's another to file under the Boro comedy school of defending... Iling-Jr has really struggled so far. He gives it away and Boro are countered on. Hamer plays through O'Hare. Giles does well to get back in and stop him, but between him and Travers, they don't deal with it and Rak-Sakyi is offered it on a plate.
Missed the first ten minutes, but how we have got this far without Sheffield scoring and then they do.
All Boro have done is give the ball away. Too slow in midfield and the guy on the wing is the worst offender. They just do not look like a “team”
Penalty to Boro on the stroke of half-time: taken by Burgzorg, who converts.
CJ:
Edmundson deemed to be fouled in the box from a Boro corner. He's clever in the way he falls town under the tug of the shirt from Robinson. He was doing plenty of holding of his own.
Funny old game
Wow, we got away with that didn’t we?
Boro second best all over the pitch and looking totally incoherent - not surprising given the ridiculous January transfer activity leading to us playing with half a new team. The goal conceded was of course a bit of a defensive mix up between two of the Jan recruits, whilst Iling Jr and Iheanacho have been ineffective and anonymous respectively. Not entirely their fault as they bed in and gain sharpness but how have we ended up in this situation?
Anyway, out of jail with a penalty awarded that 99% of the time isn’t (although it probably should be) and then a stronger finish to the half.
Anything could happen from here.
