So the prospect of a top 6 extends to another week.

I’m still not confident as the team are not playing well but the scores are what ultimately matters. Whilst some, or perhaps,  many of us are not confident,  the supporters of other teams probably feel the same. Leeds have been the best team all season but are having a little blip.

Blackburn are struggling ( hope they can extend their poor results for another game!,), will Coventry’s fantastic run experience a blip after their recent defeat etc etc.

All we know is that there will be more ups and downs in the remaining 7 matches. For most supporters the excitement is being part of what’s happening at the top end of the table for as long as possible.

philip of Huddersfield 👍😁

There are some decent options in this article:

Come on BORO.

@exmil   Some interesting picks there. One Boro player that keeps getting talked about is Seny Dieng, not being happy as a number two. I thought that he is supposed to be out injured for the rest of this year?

This may be wishful thinking but I had a sense of a corner being turned in the second half against Oxford. Iheanacho suddenly looked to have belief in his ability, Whittaker looked excellent and Iling-Junior provided two great crosses. From the regulars, Azaz, Hackney and Morris dominated possession, Howson was incredible, Borges gets better and better and generally the whole team picked up really well and coped well with the aerial bombardment from Oxford, despite our lack of true centre halves.

Clearly, we will have to play well against some good teams but we’ve done that before and if we make the playoffs we can draw confidence from the fact that we generally seem to play better against the better teams as shown by splitting our games with Sheffield Utd, drawing twice with Burnley, doing the double over West Brom and having very close games with Leeds and Sunderland.

It’s still a long shot because of our fixture list but we have something to look forward to.

@selwynoz Well said. I second to that.

As I said earlier, I would like to get van den Berg  back as soon as possible - was he voted our player of the season last year? We need one central defender who can head the ball away. Howson was excellent but is lacking in height. Hence Rav or Dael Fry is needed back soon.

But I would try to keep Howson in the team at all costs. Either in midfield or as a right back. I think Dijksteel needs a break from the side. I would put Howson in there.

Let's hope we can get McGree and Edmundson on the bench,  too. They would be interesting options for the run in, too.

Life is good. I hope we keep our current form results wise. Naturally there is a lot we can imporove in our performances. But as @selwynoz said, let's hope Boro have turned the corner now. Up the Boro!

I’ve seen a social media post from MFC today, wishing people Eid Mubarak. The responses below the post are incredible to me. When did we become such a hateful, racist, and bigoted society?

@pedro - My heart bleeds for Seny Dieng who is reported as "not being happy as a number two"  (keeper).  At least he is being paid. Speaking as someone who actually pays to watch the Boro, I'd be unhappy if Dieng was the number one (keeper).  Travers is a much better keeper and Glover is a better number two (keeper) than Dieng. Sol Brynn must think he's a safer pair of hands than Dieng who, on that basis, may really be a number four.

@forever-dormo   Agree with all of that Dormo. I was just making a point, that a number of outlets and fans have added Dieng onto the “get rid off” list.

Unfortunately, his long term injury will preclude that, next season anyway possibly. Then he will be out of contract. Could be another Smith or even Lenihan if reports are to be believed.

Not that we will hear anything from MFC.

PS.  Forgot to say, reluctantly I renewed my underused ST last week.

@pedro

Thanks for the mention just catching up with the blog.

Yes I did go to the match and thoroughly enjoyed it but didn’t feel too good afterwards so I’ve decided to cut out the night games for the time being.

it was too cold
