Some good posts on here Diasborians as usual cutting to the quick and getting to the point.

i still like MC and of course much prefer him to Wilder.

i think he will come good eventually but I think Xmas will be the turning point.

I won’t be seeing the game on Wednesday unfortunately, at least not in person as I was admitted to James Cook hospital at lunchtime !

❤️❤️❤️

As Eric Morecambe used to say

@original-fat-bob - Sorry to hear about the hospital admission.  Look after yourself, that's the most important thing.

I took Mrs Dormo there (JCUH) last Friday for a pre-op exam, but no fears as it's for her second cataract operation, planned for NEXT Friday. Hopefully the last of a series of operations - some very serious and some, like the cataracts, not serious. It will be good to end a series of operations and treatments going back about two years now. Basically the car is on autopilot for all of the local hospitals.  It will be great to close the chapter! And to allow the car to drive into Northallerton and M'bro (Hartlepool also!) without diverting into the hospitals.

Fingers crossed for you, OFB.

@original-fat-bob   Sorry to hear that. Hopefully your issue will be sorted out fairly quickly.

Whether you will want any additional strain watching the Boro, is another question.

Be good and take care.

@original-fat-bob All the best wishes for your trip on Wednesday. Remember to listen to the Radio Stitches, the local radio for the hospital. I bet they will follow the match, too. I wish you do not have a season card for the hospital and can revert back to the other season card soon.

@dormo So sorry to hear about your and your wife's trouble, too. I hope it will be easing out now and you could drive to newer places, too.

About the result on Saturday.  Again we played the opposition off the park in the first half. I couldn't believe we went 0-2 down be before the break.  So well we played.

I think we made only two mistakes in the whole match and they scored from both of them. I mean the mistakes were awful and occured inside or very close to our penalty area. But especially with the second goal, the ball jumped very nicely for them. We just seem to be punished for every mistake now.

Also, I was expecting the goals for coming finally. We cannot play this well every time in the first half,  and not having a two goal lead to show for the effort. Surely, the effort we put in must start to get results. But I prefer McGree on the left as Pedro said above. The left side of the Boro is not creating enough at present.

And obviusly we have not solved the problem of breaking up a team defending for 90 min. I think Bristol City  defended superbly but were not a treat going forward.  We created the two chances they had. Unfortunately.

Well, the results must follow the good play. But when, that is the question. Up the Boro!

@original-fat-bob, I am very sorry to wake up and read your news.  No doubt you being in hospital and all you will already have had breakfast some time ago and probably just waiting now on the mid morning cup of tea that must be imminent.

I hope for you a speedy recovery and that you will soon be home and back in the Riverside.

What about Saturday then? There have been many great posts on that already and culminating in a great assessment of where Boro is at from @forever-dormo.

Something has to give and it has to give soon. For me it has to be defensively that we need to sort first of all. All the truly great teams are built on a strong foundation. Something has been consistently poor at Boro throughout MC's tenure. That has been that we always make mistakes at the back and we always invite pressure on ourselves at the back by always insisting on playing the ball around the back and so the chances we will make a mistake are greater.

Get the defence sorted and then we stop throwing away points. You always have a far greater chance of winning a game if you haven't conceded a goal.

Once you have built that solid foundation and you know you can rely on it (and crucially so does every other team know that too), you have the right to play possession football. Until then, it doesn't matter if we score one goal while we are still likely to give at least one away.

@powmillnaemore

To be honest I didn’t sleep last night and talked to the girls on duty most of the time.

They love the Boro and it’s a pity that we seem to have lost the female element within our ranks.

The staff spoilt me rotten and I’ve had four or five cups of tea during the course of the shift. (I’ve lost count!)

I spent a lot of time on T’internet and discovered that my pacemaker model and serial number is listed as faulty and three warming notices were issued to hospitals by the manufacturers who subsequently had to sell the company due to the litigation cases against them.

Symptoms described on the website that affect the patient are identical to those that I’m experiencing at the moment.

Just waiting for the Cardiologist to talk about it as they’ve always said it’s fine for the past 4 years.

It’s like buying a car with a defective engine and the garage keeps saying there’s nothing wrong with it!

Well I’m ready for a rebore because I’m piston broke !

@original-fat-bob Good luck in hospital Bob. Owing to your impressive research it sounds as if you will be advising the doctors, instead of them advising you! Hopefully you will be fit again soon and back in training . All the best Chris

Thank goodness that the faulty device hasn't done for you over these last years. At least now, even though you might be in hospital, you are in a position of strength, knowing there is an issue with the pacemaker and it needs to be replaced.

It is another thing altogether if the professionals knew that your particular device was flagged as faulty, but chose to tell you it was all OK. Fingers crossed your (current) cardiologist will be on the ball and the right and honest options are made available for you and sooner rather than later.

Re this place. I agree it does seem to be a bit of a men only club. Does Borolady still follow the blog I wonder. Are there any other ladies out there that read our musings? It would be good to think that there are some ladies that could and would join in the conversation. Some younger voices too perhaps.

Anyway. Surely it is almost lunch time with you now, 😉, so I should leave you in peace to enjoy your slice of cold corned beef, with shrivelled peas and lumpy, watery mashed potato...

Sorry to hear of your pacemaker problems OFB, hopefully the mechanic will  get a new one installed asap.

I wouldn’t suggest,  however, that you give the new one a test run on Wednesday night as you may end up for a longer stay than planned!

All the best and hope you are home soon. 😎

@powmillnaemore.  Thank you PNM, will be leaving home later today to travel up to Valencia with the operation scheduled for 3:00pm tomorrow.

Taking lap top and iPad with us in the hope I am well enough to watch the game on Wednesday; then again, I suspect that the match might be more painful than the op!😉😎

@chris-from-barlby

Symptoms of a short-circuited battery in a St. Jude pacemaker could include feeling lightheaded or dizzy, loss of consciousness, chest pain, or shortness of breath. If you have a recalled pacemaker and experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

@original-fat-bob.  You don’t need a faulty pacemaker to experience any or all of those symptoms, just watching the Boro at present can bring them on! 😉😎

@original-fat-bob Sorry to hear about your electrical problems, Diasboro's casualty list seems to be growing apace, let's hope you are back on the grass very soon. At least you are in there with all those people who will sort your tune-up soon enough. To keep the theme going I'm off to the Hospital this morning but just for my regular meeting meeting with the Head and Neck Specialist Nurse, plus a cup of tea and a biscuit of course. I don't see the Consultant until January 2nd but it won't be for a wee Dram!

On to the next game I think LL should be on the bench or rested and if Conway is fit get him  to play his natural game, which I feel we have yet to see. Anyway to all the Diasboro injured list and facing 'procedures', KP FD, get well and sorted soon.

Meanwhile another day and another Hospital.

UTB,

John

OFB, have you given thought that your magnetic personality might be interfering with your pacemaker 🤔, good luck to growing number of diasboro who have upcoming appointments or procedures and speedy recovery to those who have already been through some.

Come on BORO.
