It’s certainly come around very quickly. The Boro reporting back for training today and the seasons fixtures being announced tomorrow.
Its important for Diasborians as well as the fixtures are allocated for the penmanship b that will be produced over the season.
Thanks to everyone who contributed last year which made this the best, most informative and different Boro blog in the world.
For those who have joined the blog and all the lurkers, please have a go. We don’t expect a litany of war and peace just a view from a Boro supporter on what and how they see the fixture will pan out.
Those who did contribute last season if you wish to comment on a particular fixture then please let us know.
Interest from our Australian bloggers in producing previews is also most welcome and looking forward to reading how they view the game from the other side of the world.
Anyone who doesn’t want or can’t contribute this season, then no problem and thanks for your input it’s truly appreciated.
So come on you Diasborians “let’s be avin yer” please respond who is going to contribute this season and nominate a match if they want to.
Dont forget the first game is a friendly at home then we have the Carabao Cup as well.
if you can put up with me I’ll throw my hat in the ring as a contributor for the coming season and Andy has kindly said that he will produce the spreadsheet as per last season.
Up the Boro

If no one objects to being put forward to write the previews for next season including the friendly games it is proposed that we will use the same names as last season writers plus the additional ones.
We will endeavour to make sure that you can have different matches to preview except Martin who has suggested teams.
If anyone is unable or does not wish to write this season please post on this blog asap.
Cheers

Good work guys. Looking forward to reading the brilliant contributions that are so typical of this Forum.
please don’t include me until I get back to Oz in mid September. Anything after September 18.

Apologies to Andy and Bob. Have only just seen this thread. I'm happy to take the first two league games, Swansea (H) and Derby (A).
Still haven't mastered the art of posting main features directly on to the blog so may have to do it via e mail to either Andy or Bob.
Don't want to tempt fate by committing too far ahead. I'm now in my mid 80s and playing in Fergie Time.
I was offered, without any apparent irony, A Bag for Life in Tesco's yesterday.
To which the only possible response was to say that I hoped it would last a lot longer than that.

Just to add that I’m off on holiday this weekend until the 31 July so probably best not to pencil me in until mid August.
Though I guess I should probably set up the 2024-25 Forum before I go away.
I can make one or two previews. Of cource it is not my mother language so I need a bit more time to check the vocabulary, etc. But Word will do that, I think.
The language is not my main concern but travelling in my work. Earlier this year I was travelling abroad about two times a week. And I cannot say when I am travelling on business. But I can of course prepare the article well in time and adjust it if needed a week or a few days before the match.
I do not have any preferances. Been to away matches to Hull, Derby and Reading, for example.
But I could take Wednesday for example as they used to my favourite another team when Big Jack was there. I have been at Hillsborough but that was in the 1980's already.
Up the Boro!
A correction: I was travelling twice a MONTH (not week). So I will try to write a preview or two. Up the Boro! The language is not my main concern but travelling in my work. Earlier this year I was travelling abroad about two times a week. And I cannot say when I am travelling on business.
just a thought if you can find time to set up the 2024-25 forum could you populate each game in the forum so it can be used for the match preview and comment. It would make it easier for those not used to creating a header just to post their leader preview into that particular game
OFB
If you mean could I populate all the games in advance then that would cause problems with the recent thread list and also cause date-stamp problems.
While I appreciate one or two people may find creating a new topic not quite the same as just posting a comment but it is a relative straight-forward process
1. Go to the appropriate forum (in this case 2024-25 - once I've added it)
2. Click on the red 'Add Topic' button
3. Add a title under 'Topic Title' (e.g. Boro v Sunderland)
4. Place your article text that you've written in the box below all the Bold, Italic etc buttons - looks identical to when you add a comment. Plus it's better to write your article in a word processor and then copy and paste it into the box to avoid losing it accidentally.
5. Then click the red 'Add Topic' button below your article text you've added to post the Topic.
You don't need to worry about anything else or other options you're not familiar with
I did write a guide that goes into more detail (see link below) with graphics but it's essentially just those 5 points in the list and you don't need to worry about 'Pasting as Text' as I suggested as it will still work if you don't.
@werdermouth I always struggle to embed a photo in a post - I’m sure you published a how-to, but I just can’t find it - any chance you could repeat it?
I've now added the new 2024-25 forum for next season
You can find it under BORO SEASONS > 2024-25 or click on the link below
If it's a photo that's already on the web you can just copy image and paste it into the article or just paste the url of the photo from the website it's currently on.
If it is not on the web already then you will have to add it as an attachment (Choose File button below text box) to your post - note this will only display a link to the photo and not the display the photo as an image. However, if then edit your post and click on the attachment link you can then paste the url of this attachment into your post and then it will display as an image.
Well that’s not worked - I’m obviously doing something wrong around finding the url for the photo when I go into edit.
I just did it - click on that paperclip IMG_9726.jpeg and it should open in a new browser tab (well it does in Windows and on my iphone) and then copy the url and it will paste as an image. You can paste it into your original post with the attachment when you edit it.
So in the following order
1. Attach image as file
2. Click on paperclip image link
3. Copy url of image
4. Edit original post and then paste url and it will appear as an image
@werdermouth I did try that but it just opened up the photo. I’ll try again tomorrow.
Let me know which operating system (e.g. Windows, OS) and which browser you are using and i'll try to check what you need to do.
On my iPhone (iOS 16) when I click on the paper clip attachment link it opens the image in a new screen - in the url bar on this screen ‘diasboro.club’ is displayed.
Tap on the diasboro.club url once and it should open a new screen with favorites and bookmarks - plus it then shows the extended url of the image instead of just diasboro.club - double-click on the url and you should get the option to copy the url - you should then be able to go back to your post and edit it and paste in the url you just copied.
@werdermouth Sorted - thanks for your patience.

Len has offered to do the opening fixtures home and away but the season is still very short of writers!
Should Andy and I just assume that everyone is going to contribute to the blog and are going to shout up now and respond to this post that they're in ?
Or is everyone just not going to bother ???
Or should Andy just populate the fixtures with everyone’s names included ?
If a blogger does not want to be included writing the previews then please respond now !
Only two weeks to go !
Time is running out….
OFB
@original-fat-bob - I am happy to join in the rota again. If people are prepared to read it, I'll write it...
But please leave me out for the first few weeks of the season due to holiday "duties". I guess if Len has been good enough to volunteer for a couple of the early fixtures, and with others chipping in for a few games, my missing the early weeks shouldn't pose the Blog a problem.
(I must say that I rarely feel that I am "champing at the bit" for a resumption of football in August. Firstly I am usually in holiday mode, and almost by definition half the fan-base must be on holiday at some time in August each year. Secondly the cricket season will be hitting its second lap after the 6-8 week "white ball gap". We should be watching red ball cricket at the height of the Summer rather than having an episode in the Spring when it's cold and very variable weather, and then having another episode in Autumn having ceded the warm long days in the middle, when watching cricket would be much more pleasant, to T20 and The Blast).
I'm afraid I've lost track of who said they can do what! Nevermind, I've drafted the below but feel free to swap, decline, argue amongst yourselves or however we want to play this out....
