Come on BORO.
@k-p-in-spain are Boro boxing clever here isn't there some weird rule on home grown young players and their salaries, reflects on their worth , if you go to tribunal
Could we pinch Carvalho on loan from Liverpool
I think that weird rule only kicks in if the player rejects the contract offered by his club and signs a contract for another club.in this case HH has accepted the contract with Boro, so one presumes a) he is happy to be committed to Boro for the next few years and confident it will be a good place to be and b) he has been given a seriously good deal because the management clearly want him to stay. So do I, so I am very pleased with this news.@k-p-in-spain are Boro boxing clever here isn't there some weird rule on home grown young players and their salaries, reflects on their worth , if you go to tribunal
@exmil. Sorry I didn’t make it clear I was responding to the rumour about the QPR keeper. 😬😎
Thanks for the link.
I have to say I hate the new shirt. Where has our unique white band gone? It’s a key part of our identity. Bring it back! And what’s with all this blue trimming? It’s a mess.

Actually I like the new home shirt and will be pre ordering it shortly, like every season, as far as the white band is concerned, many of our home shirts have not had the white band, including when we won our only major trophy.
Come on BORO.

Yes, I know we haven’t always had the band. Nonetheless, for many of us, it has become a recognised part of our identity, which sets us apart from run-of-the-mill shirts worn by the likes of Nottingham Forest, Rotherham, Barnsley, et al. I’ll miss it this season.
@clive-hurren Have you seen the new Barnsley shirt yet?
Sit down before opening the link ..
Up the Boro!
Glad to see Chuba modelling the new home kit - must mean he's staying surely? My only complaint is that the designers may be responsible for risking a few neck injuries this season as that badge is pretty close to collar for players to attempt to kiss it 😉
As for the Barnsley shirt that Jarkko has enlightened us with - well he's a photo of the players being shown a photo of them wearing it...
Former Boro player James Morrison has been given a full time job as part of the coaching team of the Scotland set up, under manager Steve Clarke.
One of the ones we should never have let go!

Good grief! I see what you mean, Jarkko!! It’s atrocious!
I wonder what colour for the away shirts. There seems to be a lot of turquoise and green around the training ground.

@k-p-in-spain Boro need to do a deal, so that we can keep him off the payroll. Personally I would not have him back. I asked before, who actually signed him for Boro .
No white smoke from Rockcliffe Towers, anyone worried about lack of business from Boro chiefs at the moment.
@malcolm. Why not let MC have a look at him?
I believe there is a good player in him and if he can stay injury free then you never know what might transpire playing in a side that likes to move the ball forward and play to feet.
If MC does not like what he sees then we will have to look to let him go, probably at a loss.
I believe he was recruited by KS. 😎

Sky must have heard that I'm doing the match preview on Diasboro 🤣

I think he was suggested by our South American network. Same person who suggested Muniz.
An addition to the team, the Recruitment Team!
Perhaps MFC will recruit someone for the playing team sooner or later! 😂😎
I agree. Better to have the current coacing/management team take a look and decide yes or no rather than see him become an Argentine international regular by excelling for some other team...@malcolm. Why not let MC have a look at him?

Hopefully this is an indication that funds are being made available to purchase a Keeper, LB, and CF; as well as wages of loan player(s).

The Evening Gazette reports Boro have borrowed £7.5 million. But I don’t understand how borrowing £7.5 million can be portrayed as good news “cos it will boost Boro’s spending ability “.
The borrowing has been secured on the 3 instalments of income from Bournemouth for Tavernier. So each instalment from Bournemouth will be needed to repay part of the loan. So Boro will not have any money to spend as a result of this borrowing.
I see this action as a cause for concern- it seems to me that Boro needed the money to keep going and therefore had to borrow money which can only be repaid as the instalments are received from Bournemouth.
How do others see this?
Philip of Huddersfield
I just read it as releasing cash flow. The money is coming in from Bournemouth but the club have decided to release it all now instead of over the next three years.
Meanwhile back to the cricket. England were in control for most of the first test and threw victory away. The Aussies just played hard cricket.
In this second test the Aussies did the traditional thing scoring as many runs as possible in their first innings with the objective of getting into a very strong position where they can’t lose the game but can win.
England had a first innings collapse after being 188-1. The Aussies then batted sensibly giving England a target of 371. England will go for it but I fear the Aussies pace attack is just too fast for England’s batters. Their bowlers are much more capable of taking 20 wickets in a game than England’s bowlers.
As I write this, I see England are 16-2.
England have been lauded for their attacking cricket - particularly the batting but they need to knuckle down more and accept not scoring as fast as recently. The team needs a captain’s batting performance from Stokes particularly as he’s not fit enough to bowl at this level.
I fear England will be 2-0 down in the series some time tomorrow which will be goodbye to winning the Ashes.
