After reading all of the above and looking at the upcoming matches, I have just thrown away my Stanley knife.

I see that Akpom has played previously with Assombalonga at Notts Forest, not for very long, but probably long enough to form an opinion.

I decided to move Dormo's excellent post into a new thread When will we get to see a football match "in the flesh"? as it was both a substantial post in its own right and a whole new topic, which raised the important point of whether fans will or indeed should get to physically return to watching live football. I'm sure many supporters are pondering over this issue and wonder if it will ever happen and is it ultimately safe to do so.

Anyway, I'd encourage fellow bloggers to check out his well written brilliant post and noted that both GHW and KP had already liked this post but unfortunately I can't easily add their 'likes' to a new thread.

@grovehillwallah

If all boro players are for sale, which is entirely possible, we are after all dealing with a club which is seriously disturbed. Then it follows that the dross will be left with us, and the players with a future will be gone. If this is the new positive management, one can only smile. After opening my mouth as it were, I had better state my opinion on the subject of players. Any club looking to strengthen their squad should do a supermarket sweep and offer to take Tav Wing, Fry, Fletcher, Pears, tell us they have no money, and don't do sell one's (it's club policy) and can we accept a book of green shield stamps, that should do the trick. Perhaps the person who said he would gladly drive Traore to any club that would take him would care to get his tank topped up.

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while but been a bit unwell and spent Monday in James Cook feeling scared stiff that I was going to catch COVID-19. Heart playing it’s own rhythm section and BP Breaking the glass! I got home in time to watch the stream and the Boro didn’t fail me! Very nearly ended up back in JC again.

Gibson watched the match in the stands as did Neil Warnock and NW played a blinder. He knew the team he put out wasn’t going to be good enough to beat the passing football of Barnsley and wanted to show Gibbo that he needed to open his wallet and buy some players very quickly otherwise it was going to be another relegation threatening season.

Disappointed that Tav and Wing seem to have gone backwards in their contribution to the team although Neil Maddison after the game mentioned them and said it was often the case that young players form dipped after they had made their breakthrough into the first team.

interesting that Fry was made captain that should have given him some pride and hopefully we should see a different Boro team Win on Saturday!

or should I go for

 ⚽️ ⚽️ ?

OFB

as an aside I should now mention that the F should really be deleted from my moniker as I’ve lost 5 stones over the past few years 2 of which I lost during lockdown to minimise any risk. Everything has a silver lining !

@original-fat-bob

Hope you're heading towards match-fitness soon - btw I mentioned the other day that I've been busy laying 5-stone paving slabs this last week, so if you've lost the equivalent of one of those then you must be floating as it's a real effort to pick one of those up and I've been aching all week from the effort - couldn't imagine permanently carrying one around as my heart is pounding after just five minutes 🙂

Glad to read that "Once Fat Bob" is feeling better and posting again. Maybe we will see a similar upturn in the health of the Boro to celebrate with a win on Saturday.

OFB,

Great to hear you are better and you've lost five stone. Well done. Does OFB become OTB as in Old Thin Bob? No doubt there will be other suggestions !

Stay safe,

UTB,

John

@original-fat-bob - hopefully, they'll be able to find a slot to reschedule before the potential increase in cases in winter - otherwise you'll have to take it easy until this is under control.

@original-fat-bob. Robin, so sorry to hear of your health issues which were clearly very worrying for you and your nearest and dearest.  Glad to hear that you are back home and feeling better.  Fingers crossed that the delay in fitting a pace maker will not go on for too long.

I was surprised to hear that after your return from hospital you decided to watch the match.  As you well know, through years of experience, watching MFC is prone to give even the healthiest of supporters a heart attack!

Take care and hope you are back to a fully 100% thinner self soon. 😎

Yes, all the best wishes to Once Fat Bob, too. Keep safe.

BTW, we are having a hiking holiday here in Ylläs, well above the artic circle. The leaves on the trees are in full colour as well as all the smaller plants on ground level - autumn at full colour. Breath takingly beatiful. We were cycling in the woods and up the moutains today. Once needed to stop as four raindeer blocked the path! No problems as they are half wild anyway.

I saw we lost to Barnsley yesterday. Who cares when the nature is so beatiful in red, orange and yellow. And the sun is shining. Happy days.

Up the Boro!
