Listened to it live and just watched the extended highlights. It felt like a typical Warnock team performance and most of what occurred to me has already been said.

It looked like quite a mature performance by Djed Spence. I noticed that several times he crossed over with Ikpeazu when we were attacking down the left; Spence ran towards the centre of the goal while Ikpeazu headed for the back post. I suspect that this is a ploy that has been designed around having someone like Tav or Crooks on the right.

Speaking of which: I really hope that Warnock does not stick Crooks back out on the right. I think Crooks is already showing that he's our best #10. Watmore doesn't have the same creativity while Tav can be as good cutting in on the right.

Howson and Morsy definitely should not be playing in the same midfield. Howson seemed somewhat liberated by having that role in front of the defence with lots of creative options in front of him.

McNair looked to be off the pace. Hopefully it was just a one-off.

Overall, playing something like 4-2-3-1 with one of the 2 midfielders being more advanced seemed to suit us well but we do have a habit of playing well in a certain shape once then badly next time. In general we have struggled with putting together runs of consistent performances.

Barcelona began life without Lionel Messi by beating Real Sociedad in an entertaining La Liga opener.

Martin Braithwaite scored either side of half-time to become the first Danish player to score a La Liga brace.

Pity that he did not see eye to eye with Pulis. Our bad that we let the player go to Spain and now a regular at Barcelona.

Up the Boro!
