Well Diasborians it’s getting close to the start of the season again which should be a nail biting or finger shredding ride to the Premiership.

As you are aware Andy R and myself wrote the match previews for the season which thankfully didn’t get much criticism or adverse comments. (I mean mine not Andy’s!)

If anyone would like to take over the mantle and write the previews this season it’s fine by be and I’m not too sure about Andy's work load this season.

If we have no takers for the role of pre match reports then I am willing to take up the mantle again. I cannot speak on behalf of Andy but I must confess that I hope he does as I found his writing to be erudite, incisive and thought proving which spurred me on to try and “do better.”!”

Comments please even those lurkers and those on vacation so that we can plan for the forthcoming season.

Please note that I shall not be offended in the least if a change is required to the match previews with a new author.

I’d be delighted if you and Andy continued, OFB. I’ve really enjoyed both your contributions in the season gone and hope you’re able to carry on again this year.

I’m with Martin and would be delighted if OFB and Andy continue with the match previews.

You both produce well written, informative and amusing pieces which I enjoy reading and responding to immensely.

I hope you both can continue and thanks to both for the time and dedication you display in producing these valued articles. 😎

Thanks Bon and thanks for the kind responses, Martin and KP.

I’m happy to do my bit but echo OFBs sentiments that I’m also happy to share or even pass on duties to anyone who wants to contribute. There’s so many well informed, strong writers among us that I know whoever does the job will make a fine addition.

Agree with all of the above and have really appreciated all of the very high quality match previews from Bob and Andy over the past season.

Greatfull  thanks to both OFB and Andy for their continued time, effort and committment to the pre-match reports.

A lot to ask of them and for them to commit to. Thanks once more.

PS  Hopeflly they will be more enjoyable to write than in the past.

I'm more than happy if OFB and Andy continue their good work writing match previews and adding their own style and observations. While I could potentially write the odd article, I probably can't commit to deadlines this autumn and winter as we're about to embark on a few sizable projects at home.

We're getting ahead of the zero-carbon curve or zero-gas given Putin's likely penchant for cutting the supply off to Germany and are installing a ground-source heat pump system powered by solar. On top of that, I'm hoping to make progress on the attic-conversion project that's been on the back burner.

Regarding the articles, I should mention a tip to OFB and Andy to avoid rogue formatting getting transferred from whatever word processor they write their articles in.

Instead of copying and pasting the text in the normal way, it's better to use the option in the menu: EDIT - Paste as Text

This will stop things like those overly large superscripts like in 1st where the 'st' becomes raised too high. It will also stop much of the hidden stylesheet coding from coming across and making extra paragraph breaks and new lines.

Thanks Werder - that tip is very useful and I’ve made a note of it.
