An interesting article about the Black Path in today’s Guardian.

Wow,

That hit me with a strong wave of nostalgia, sitting here on a far flung desert island I hadn't realised how mush I missed home.

Almost brought me to tears.

Thanks Martin.

Thanks Martin

Before I took ill last year I was invited to join the Steel Heritage Group who have worked tirelessly to save the Dorman Long Tower.

I nominated a friend of mine to join the group and they regularly have zoom meetings during the lockdown prior to meeting up again very shortly. The figures being bandied about to save the Tower run to several £million and quite frankly I cannot see that kind of money being forthcoming.

The Teesworks site currently being developed will create jobs and in the present climate will probably override any altruistic and philanthropist gestures to save Teesside heritage.

On a brighter note I’m very hopeful that the Chancellor will announce on budget day that a new Free Port will be announced for Teesside
