These games are coming so quick and fast that I haven't had a chance to read any but a few of the posts after mine before the game.  And I see that Martin has already posted his PNE Match Preview. No slouches on this Blog.

I will go back to look at the other posts on this thread but it might be Friday before I get to read the PNE piece (which I see is to kick off at 12.30pm on Saturday so it is almost upon us).

A few comments on the Stoke match, first. I watched it at the Poisoned Pony. If there were any in the pub hoping to watch Champions League games with Liverpool and Newcastle playing amongst others, they were sadly disappointed. I could even hear most of the commentary despite the noise (so my earphones and little radio weren't needed, though I had taken them with me).

I was VERY concerned about the first half display.  Lots of missed/intercepted passes by Boro and Stoke's players seemed quicker to get to the ball at breakdowns.  The goal Stoke scored was a bit of a low blow but Brynn did make some other saves. I still had hope. The changes at half time had the desired effect and the early goal was exactly what Boro needed. Browne is our version of Paul Madeley.  The second goal was a massive release of tension.  I was delighted that Conway later managed to put the ball in the net for the winning goal - at first it seemed that was not going to happen.  After that there were still oppportunities of Stoke but I expected Boro, once ahead, to hold on.  A great three points secured for the second successive game and back into 2nd spot in the league table.

This dream remains ON.  Right, dinner to be prepared, then I can read the other posts and THEN (this evening or on Friday) the next thread...

@forever-dormo I did think maybe I’d gone too early with the Preston starter but I’ve got some things to do tomorrow and didn’t want to leave it too late. Apologies if I’ve peaked too soon (again!).

@martin-bellamy Don't worry, mate. The game kicks off in less than 40 hours from now!

@pedro -It's ALWAYS a matter of time before the return of injured players.  But for Boro it seems to be TOO MUCH time!

@werdermouth
I'm in Canada using a VPN that is also based in Canada, and I have no problem viewing The Northern Echo articles.
I do think I registered a few years ago though.

@johnny-canuck

I don’t know whether a registration would save an IP address but since the last few days I have needed a uk IP address to enable the page to load - perhaps they’re using a geographical blocker for non-English speaking countries but if Jarkko can access then maybe it is down to something saved in cookie if you are outside UK - though I’ve just tested setting my VPN to Canada and the NE loads without problem - so sounds like Geolocation blocking.

@werdermouth When in Spain I have to have my VPN location as the UK.

At times the BBC can be a little more difficult and I have to move the city/server.
