@martin-bellamy

Clearly the recruitment team must be aware of the publicised issues regarding Targett plus other relevant facts which we don’t know about - that’s their job and what they are paid for. However  despite knowing all they should they have still signed some deadbeats and signing this player who has played virtually no football in the last 2-3 years must be a big gamble.

How many of us would be pleased if Boro signed a Lenihan type player with his lack of playing.

I would much  rather sign an established Championship player on say a 3 year contract ( like the 2 signed and playing) as evidence of building a team , or even a promising young player than short term gambles.

Philip of Huddersfield 👎🤔

85 beers, minus your age plus 40 will result in the year you were born….. did it work for you?

Yes it worked for me - it took me a few minutes to work out why that is - but I won't give it away 😉

Certainly looks a much stronger bench now!

Anyway, looking forward to watching the game despite it being a beautiful day in Brussels 😎 😉

I won’t get to watch the game again today, which is about a big a certainty as you can get that Boro are about to win handsomely.

@martin-bellamy   I would say, your last guess is the reason. It has certainly wound me up. 🤣🤣

I guess, they know they need a LWB, whether he can fill that role, we will see. Possibly they have run out of other viable options. Although he does not appear to be cheap and could end up expensive.

As for the Recruitment Team, they have done well over the last couple of seasons, so credit there.

They have also made some big mistakes. None of the LWB’s signed to date have been totally successful. And we will not talk about the January Window.

@original-fat-bob It worked for me too. Before any beers.

My heart was in my mouth 10 minutes or so ago when there was a delay in the match because of an injury to Sol Brynn, but he seems to be OK.  You can bet your bottom dollar that Boro would be kissing goodbye to their no-goals-yet-conceded record if Glover had to take over from him!

Boro started very well and had two good half chances in the first ten minutes. Norwich have tweaked their formation a little and are now winning the midfield, and also have had a couple of chances, one just as I write, inches away from a goal.

Boro have returned to type a little, passing the ball around too much at the back and being sloppy in playing out. Whittaker not in the game again.

All Norwich and looking likely to score at the moment.

Boro two up at half-time:  Azaz in the 43rd minute, assisted by HH, & Conway in the 45th, assisted by Morris!  😀

End to end now, Azaz gifts Sargent an open goal then a mistake by Norwich gives Morris a chance to chip the keeper but he puts it over the bar.

Then against the run of play, a mistake by Norwich giving the ball to Hackney, passes wide to Azaz who slots it in from the left hand side with his left.

Another mistake by Norwich giving the ball away. Hackney picks it up, plays in Morris and a precise ball across their goal sees Conway side foot it in.  Two Nil

Doesn't work for me, but I’ve not had this year’s birthday yet (it’s a big one).

Well so far so good.  Scored slightly against the run of play.

Now need to see the game out and no repeat of last season. CoB 😎

Get in!

Btw, can any of you get the Gazette’s live report? Mine is just not loading online.

Funny old game - Boro started well and maybe should've scored a couple but Norwich were the better side after 15 minutes as Boro looked to have problems keeping hold of the ball - particularly Whittaker and Azaz made some strange passes. Then all of a sudden Boro pounced on Norwich as they played it out and went into the break 2-0 up after some neat combinations and finishes.

Boro top of the table at half-time, ahead of WBA on GD (Boro +6 to WBA's +3).  Long may it stay that way!

Same for me.  Tried Google & that didn't bring it up, either!

It doesn't seem to be there at all. Teesside Live seems to be all over the place at the moment, even without taking into account the actual journalism.

The Boro FC link just seems to bring up a random set of Boro articles and rarely the most recent ones.

HH booked in the 48th minute, Callum Brittain in the 61st.

Canaries now down to 10 men:  Jacob Wright sent off for violent conduct.

Re the missing Gazette live report, I was going to ask whether Johns had gone on strike!

Norwich down to ten men with a straight red card for a bad tackle on Morris. Norwich still pushing and almost pull one back with a shot from the edge of the box inches wide.

A wake up call

@stircrazy -  PHEW. I thought Boro would throw it away at the death (AGAIN!).
