EXMIL CHALLENGE 2026 - Part 2

All entries have been received and recorded, thanks everyone and good luck, especially the Boro. A couple of interesting predictions for Boro in part 2 🤔.

Come on BORO.

I think Mavropanos is still wearing the ball and has had to change his passport photo...

And a golf ball hitting a metal plate: https://www.flixxy.com/golf-ball-slow-motion.htm

Up the Boro!

These images remind me of the joke about what goes through the mind of a fly as it hits the windscreen...

At least our injury problems are improving for the final eight matches - especially so after the Blackburn match on Saturday.

The Echo wrote: It is doubtful that anyone of Boro’s currently injured players will be ready to start at Ewood Park this weekend, but there is a good chance that Alfie Jones, Alex Bangura and Sammy Silvera will all be available by the time the Teessiders return to action after the international break with a Good Friday showdown with promotion rivals Millwall.

“Leo (Castledine) is a top player,” said Hellberg. “We found him in Huddersfield, but he’s had bad luck with the injury. That’s the thing too, we’ve had a lot of injuries. You don’t see us talking about it so much, but we have had some important players out.

“It’s good to have Leo back, and it’s good to have some other players maybe coming back soon too with Bangs [Alex Bangura], Sammy [Silvera] and Alfie [Jones].

“They are big players, players that we need. We’re just trying to focus on ourselves – that’s the message. Whatever everyone else is doing, we’re just going to be trying to do our best.”

I have copied below some of the match stats from the Pompey v Derby game last night which Derby won 0-1.

It replicates what often happens across the Championship, the teams with the most possession/shots do not always win.  It’s as we have often said about quality, correct decision making and taking chances when they occur.

Portsmouth vs Derby County. Sky Bet Championship.

Fratton ParkAttendance19,253.

Derby County1

  • S Szmodics (8th minute)

@jarkko    It is strange how things change in football. One year ago, we were all saying (well most of us) that Silvera would never play a game again for Boro.

Now, although not a first eleven start, he will probably offer more as a sub than, Sene, Hansen and possibly Sarmiento. It will be interesting if all three are fit to be picked, who will drop from the bench. Assuming no more injuries. 🤞🤞

@k-p-in-spain - Nice to know that it's not only Our Heroes who are punched in the face by possession and other match stats.

@forever-dormo.  I have been looking at the results and stats for some of the other teams and was quite surprised at the number of teams who lost having dominated possession and shots.

A recent one was the blades v Coventry with the latter dominating but Coventry came out on top.

It’s still a funny old game! 😎
