A little time on our hands got me thinking been a fan since 1960.
Pick a team from the early years up to say 1972 ,not our best players but those you liked watching pleased you here goes
Wigham
Craggs, Rooks, Boam, McNeil
Chadwick Gibson Hickton
O,Roarke Peacock,Mclmoyle
They'd score a few
Goals
Be back with 72 to today iconic team if played together
Looks like David Strelec will be back at Boro tomorrow as Slovakia are getting beat 2-4 by Kosovo with 10 minutes left.
Come on BORO.
Yes should be back as they lost 4-3 but he did manage to score in stoppage time. So should Alan Browne, he played 50 minutes for the Republic of Ireland in Prague, and unfortunately missed a penalty in the shootout as did Finn Azaz.
Riley Mcgree starting for the Socceroos against Cameroon. He has been taking all of the attacking free kicks and their only corner. Earlier Sontje Hansen played the first half in Curacao's 2-0 defeat by China.
Mcgree substituted after 65 minutes- tactical.
In my view, KH needs to spend a bit of time with Alan Browne and remind him that he is a top player who has made a vital contribution this season. His recent form has been somewhat off colour and that international penalty miss, like that miss against Bristol City, really won't have helped.
I'm reminded of Reuben Dangoor's brilliant art from 2018 where how Southgate '18 consoles Southgate '96 after that penalty miss. Now I remember Southgate for being in charge of the England team which gave me one of my happiest memories in any international - Ollie Watkins' winner against Holland.
@exmil. Not necessarily, Slovakia have a friendly on Tuesday according to the EG. 😎
@k-p-in-spain One would hope, considering our promotion prospects, Boro could negotiate the release of both players from the two friendlies 🤔.
Come on BORO.
Is the club doing enough commercially to sell it, see lots of insider content on many others
Apparently Browne and Strelec will NOT be returning early. The friendlies to be played, more important than R&R at Rockcliffe with MFC.
How is it the authorities have so much power over club decisions.
@pedro just imagine that we were Manchelarsepoolity or BarceRealPSGventus or any other "big" club. I am quite sure the attitude and response would be different.....
ENGLAND’S PERFORMANCE
In the absence of Championship football I watched Wales last night. They were like a breath of fresh air. They played fast open football and should have won but were denied on 2 occasions with shots hitting the woodwork and missing some easy chances. Unfortunately they conceded a goal late in the game and lost on penalties. But it was enjoyable and , apart from the result, must have pleased the fans.
I’ve watched the first half tonight of England and even making allowance for some of the stars not playing, the quality of the football is awful and boring. And these are Premiership players. The play is so predictable of keeping possession and passing the ball sideways and backwards. I’ll not bother with the second half.
Hopefully, in the remaining games of the season Boro can find a way of playing in the Wales style and not tonight’s England’s imitation of how a game should be played. Whatever the results the fans will go home content that the team “ gave it a go” and did everything to win the game.
Philip of Huddersfield 👍🤗👍🤗
A couple of interesting viewpoints here:

Praise for Conway but also questioning his effectiveness as a striker due to his well known propensity to drift onto the wing. Does he need to instructed to play smarter than running himself into the ground? At present he is one of our better midfield battlers rather than an effective front man.
I thought about Boro when reading the 2nd article. Can we adapt our approach as we enter the business end of the season? We don’t need to throw the baby out with the bathwater but maybe show more variety of approach/nuance otherwise we are likely get the same outcome especially at home? Perhaps Millwall and Ipswich will be more expansive especially if they need the points as much as ourselves, opening up the game rather than parking the bus?
UTB
As a Scotland fan, I watched TC, thought he had a good game considering the team was poor against Japan. He got a rating of 6.
In friendly's the Scots don't perform very well.
To be honest I'm not a fan of Steve Clark. He has been to the Riverside to watch TC a few times. But I thought he may have also enquired about Hayden Hackney who is eligible to play for Scotland.
@eboroacum That second article makes a lot of sense. Running for running’s sake strikes me as particularly pointless.
I still get jocular comments from a friend I played with in our school team who reckons my shirt never needed washing after a game as I never got it dirty. As I’ve pointed out to him on many occasions, I preferred to stay on my feet and score goals than run around aimlessly like a headless chicken. Being in the right place at the right time was more important than the ground I’d covered.
