Quite a few of the pegs seem to have slotted into the right holes and what a difference. Are Boro approaching a settled team/squad at last? I just hope that as the gears begin to slot into place the 'international break' (again) does upset the momentum or give us any injury worries to cope with.

Remaining optimistic you have to be pleased with that result and the performance too. Quite excellent. Sharp, incisive and as the commentators would say 'asking all the questions'. At some point Lathe's and Azaz's luck must change and then as Martin says someone is going to get a pasting. I look forward to that.

A repeat at Watford please.

UTB,

John

PS Exmil, good luck with your entry into the machine tomorrow, I hope that win buoys you up a little. We're all with you in spirit.

@john-richardson At least Marcus Forss was not named in the Finland squad. 🙃

I bought tickets to watch Finland play England and Ireland during the International break. I wished to see Gareth Southgate, Forss and Azaz live in Helsinki. But of course Gareth resigned and Markus is not match fit yet.

Fingers crossed that Finn in seen by this Finn, at least. Up the Boro!

So much for my prediction of a win for the baggies, I just love it when the Boro prove me wrong.

That was an excellent squad performance and whilst I don’t believe that everyone is firing on all cylinders yet, if they keep working and playing as they are then it will all come together very soon.

It was enjoyable game and given that both teams had spurned good chances it looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Doak and McGree worked to set up Hackney on the edge of the baggies box to slot home what proved to be a deserved winner.

Whilst it is easy to get carried away after a good win, I do believe that, following the games against Sunderland and West Brom, we are one of, if not the strongest and most capable team in a league which is wide open this season; we don’t have the firepower of the Archer/Akpom team but there is as much creativity in the side and with a solid defence we should have enough goals in the side to beat most sides.

I do believe that a top two is not beyond us provided we keep injury free and can develop the skills to overcome teams who employ the low block, which becomes easier when McGree and Doak are on their game and the midfielders are performing as they did last night.

George Edmundson has been an excellent acquisition and for me is ahead of Clarke, Lenihan and Fry; he surely has done enough already to warrant a permanent deal.

We must be doing something right, I tuned into BBC breakfast this morning and we were the first item in the Sports bulletin covering the previous nights Championship games!

Looking forward to Saturday in hope and expectation. CoB 😎
