If MC does not make changes at half time after that display, then that says everything for me about his management abilities and that he is not up to the job. 😎

He must have heard me but brings on two players who have done absolutely nothing, what has Burgzog done wrong! 🤬😎

A clueless, abject performance from what looks like a bunch of losers. Swansea are not a good team, but Boro are worse and that says everything about this season.

If Carrick does not make any changes at half time, then that just tells us everything about him also.

Repeating the “Napoleon” statement of “give me a lucky General”,  well we certainly know one thing now. Carrick is not a lucky Manager/Coach

And here come the two loanees.

Unbelievable - Carrick makes 2 subs but keeps Whittaker on and takes off Forss instead!

Whittaker continually giving the ball away, Giles completely out of form, Conway not in the game, Dijksteel poor defensively and only looking to play the ball backwards, Morris not driving forward, only the keeper, Dael and Borges emerging with any credit. I'd like to see Howson come on, Borges switched and Birgzorg introduced immediately.

Iling-Junior on at left-back for Giles?

A question to ask. How come Swansea could afford O’’Brien  who is running Swansea’s midfield and would have done a good all round job for us.

It certainly sounds grim from your reports, lads! I have been following via the BBC Sport App whilst watching France take Ireland apart (save for two late Irish tries when the game had already been decided) in the rugby.

Ire 27-42 France at the end.

Not looking great for Boro though.

You think the ref is young because you are getting old

Just checked, he's 26 and today is only his 3rd Championship game - so I am definitely old in comparison 😉

No sign of Boro playing like a team in the second half after the subs - don't understand why Burgzorg hasn't come on yet?

Burgzorg comes on, Whittaker goes off and Boro now have an extra man in their team

@paulinboro    Every match Fry has played, I have kept wondering, will this be the match he gets injured once more.

An error-strewn performance from Boro who looked anything but a coherent team against a poor Swansea side who simply knew that Boro couldn't hurt them. Absolutely no indication that this  side can get enough resuts to make the play-offs - let alone win them! Plus no fit central defenders left now but having said that Borges was probably one of the better performers along with Travers.

@werdermouth.  A true top six side would have got at least a point from that and probably three; clearly we are not and we have another season of let down, underperformance and failure.

This can’t be put down to injuries or bad luck there are question marks right across the various parts of the organisation who are all to a greater or lesser degree culpable. 😎

@k-p-in-spain   Well, generally the Manager/Coach takes the blame, even though the Recruitment Team have not covered themselves in glory. Also Mr Gibson is part of the that failure once more.

Carrick exceeded expectations when he came, getting us to the play offs, but failed when push came to shove.

Since then he has failed miserably in both last season and this season to date.

Dana Malt has just said, that was our worst performance to date. Even Maddison had to agree, and he always tries to find that silver lining in a very dark cloud.

Has Carrick really done enough, given the investment (has it been good enough) to be allowed to continue next season.

@pedro.  In my view no but I suspect SG will stick with him until Oct/Nov by which time if we are not in the mix he may act; I don’t see MC walking. 😎

That must have been one of the worst performances of the season with too many players failing to do the basics.
Whittaker seems to have been rubbish from the first minute but why give him 70 minutes before substituting him.  If he was so poor in the first half then get him off at halftime. Unfair to Burkzong to only give him 20 minutes.

Please don’t ever pick Giles as a wing back/ defender especially away from home. He too is rubbish. What a stupid signing when the last year and a half he failed at Luton and then Hull City.

And what’s this about signing a 36 year old who hasn’t played for about a year- he should be ready to play possibly for the last couple of games by which time a top 6 place will have gone. I’d much rather throw in a young home grown player - that’s how Hackney arrived on the screen.

This team is going nowhere. At one time it had a very outside chance of sneaking into the top 2. Then a top 6 looked possible. Now I think it’s a top half finish to the season but I’d not put money on it.

Carrick’s days must be numbered but his replacement will probably be another gamble.

Not currently good being a Boro supporter.

It’s been such a beautiful day here in Yorkshire today that I’m resisting any influences that might bring me down. I’m having a glass half full day.

From what I’ve read we were abysmal, but what’s the betting we win again next Tuesday?

There’s too much bad stuff happening in the world for me to get too upset by us losing a game of football, I’m afraid. If we’re looking for solace in a world of turmoil, I’d suggest that the confines of MFC will not be the place to find it for some time.

@pedro

I think we saw the full folly of the January window in that game - plus the odd decision by Carrick to leave Burgzorg, who was until he was dropped our best performing player this year, on the bench again. The fact that Iling-Junior looked a better defender than Giles probably says all that needs to be said on that one.

Whittaker was awful and seemed to be attempting lots one-touch passes beyond his ability - looked like he was trying to showboat on a sinking ship! Still not seen any sign of Iheanacho being of any use in this team and Conway looks way off being a replacement for Latte Lath. Also Morris probably had his worse game for Boro and Dijksteel was not far behind.

It's a stretch to see how Carrick can cobble together something from this random group of passengers - my hope was based on the return of Doak but that's gone now and the suspect defence is literally on its last legs now - not a recipe for optimism!

Still it 19 degrees and sunny again today - though snow now forecast for Friday...

I listened to the game on Tees. That’s 96 minutes I won’t get back. It would have been better to listen to paint dry.

The radio team made the point time and again about how we couldn’t make the ball stick and continually gave it away. It sounded as though we were dreadful and created hardly anything. Written reports confirm that. I too was very puzzled and frustrated that Carrick did not bring on Burgzorg much earlier. So often his decision-making as he chases games is worrying and infuriating. I’m starting to think his management style is too similar to the languid and easy-going way he played his football: the difference is that it worked for him on the pitch in very good teams, but it’s entirely different when you’re managing in the cut-throat and ultra-competitive Championship.

Five points off 6th now and 6 behind Coventry in 5th. Unless Boro win our next three games, then I’m afraid the season is over. Win our next three? Yer jokin’ arn’ yer?

The January transfer window once more has been proven to be a disaster given today’s performance.

Why did we pay over the odds money for a clone of Azaz. Looks to have ability, looks to be able to score and make assists. However over a season has showed that he is not up to it on a match by match basis. We now have two “luxuries” in a team of eleven, when the reality is you cannot afford to carry anybody.

I was going to renew my ST this weekend, but after watching that debacle, I think I will have to sleep on it. Probably more than one or even two nights. Many supporters will have already given up on renewing.

Mr Gibson has a number of really big decisions to make in the next few months. I hope he makes a better job of the last few.

What did Latte Lathe mean when he said in an interview after the transfer " Things where going on there and I'll leave it at that "

I think Carrick may be a bit deluded if he thinks that performance yesterday was a “one-off” - we’ve seen too many of these performances this season and it’s why we’re where we are…

We just didn't get up to speed with the game. It's that we have got to look at because that's not really happened. We have got to make it a one-off.

After sleeping on it, I am of the opinion that it would have been better if we had lost the last two matches we won, then Carrick would probably have been ditched, because after the shambles yesterday he should be ditched, yesterday was possibly the worst performance this season and that is a low bar to get under.

To top it off he did say it was a "One off" which shows that he doesn't know what he is talking about or is outright lying.

😡🤬😠😤
