I can hear fans singing that the Boro is going up....(I have had NO ALCOHOL)
@forever-dormo 🤣 ..I'll have some of that "no alcohol" thar you're on
Bad decision making costing us goals...
Burgzorg on for Forss in the 68th minute.
Yes yes yes
Now raining Boro goals: Conway in the 73rd, assisted by Azaz.
Finn Azaz is back as Boro almost walk it into the net with great move and sharp finish from Conway (too far out to miss)
just keep on attacking for another 15 minutes please
We want four, we want four, we want four - just to be on the safe side (with 20 minutes+ to go)...
After Conway (3-1 lead now) that should be enough. Surely?
I think Conway, on goals per minute played MIGHT be top of the division.
Boro need another goal to go above norwich
Phew! 1-3. MC finally gets the better of Mark Robins at the 7th/8th (???) time of asking! 🙂
Dael Fry is BBC Tees MoM but is now the only fit centre half in the first team squad. He might be picked for the next game. Please wrap him in cotton wool for Saturday.
A win! What IS a win? Phew!
Hi Boro3 nice to see you back again !
OFB
We won a game, we won a game!
Walking wounded now have to follow this up against Derby!
Normal service resumed. Well done, Boro!
Azaz is back, Conway scored again and not a bad game from Forss.
Just four points off the playoffs. Up the Boro!
What a Finnish from Marcus Forss. I will finish in there. Up the Boro!
What a relief! Boro win a game and to be honest it should never have been in doubt against a poor Stoke side. Should give the players confidence to play the official worst-form side in the Championship in Derby. Also with West Brom away to Leeds on Saturday and managerless Blackburn playing Norwich, it's a chance to get within 3 points of the top six - or indeed one point if results totally went our way 😉
Come out from behind the sofas now ... And breathe!
At last !!
Excellent win and overall a good performance against an average team . Pressing and energy levels were better and some quick passing was good to watch.
Perhaps a bit churlish to say the ball was given away at times but overall it was a good win.
Hopefully supporters can now look forward to the next game with more confidence of a win than recently.
Philip of Huddersfield
Yes they can attack, but can they do it on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke. Let’s hope so.
Yes, apparently they can! Good result tonight - not a perfect performance but some good signs. The more I see of Morris, the better he looks.
.... managerless Blackburn playing Norwich, it's a chance to get within 3 points of the top six - or indeed one point if results totally went our way 😉
Blackburn no longer man managerless, Werder. They've apprently appointed Valérien Ismaël as John Eustace's successor:
so there'll be "new manager bounce" to be reckoned with.
Well that was a surprise. Some absolutely great football and three well worked goals.
Stoke were poor, but so have plenty of the teams we have been beaten by.
Still more to do with too much sloppy passing at times. But our defending was not what it should be. Dijksteel is good going forward but was caught out time and again. Stoke put in 26 crosses which tells part of the reason we concede goals.
Now all we need is a good performance on Saturday and a little luck with the other results.
Blackburn no longer man managerless, Werder....
Sorry. Spotted the superfluous "man", not to mention the missing "a" from "apparently" too late to be able to edit my post. 😡
Enjoyed the result in the end but we are still are often very ponderous in attack, some of our players look like the are running through treacle. Would like to give a pat on the back to Borges, he looked a much better player last night compared to other games and was really getting stuck in. Happy for the rejuvenation of Azaz, those were his first goal/assist in 2025. He never looks to be happy even when he scores. Just seen that the game on Saturday is on BeIn here in OZ so is being beamed to a worldwide audience, surprised they chose that over QPR v Sheffield United. Also just had a look at the yellow card situation the cut off for 10 bookings is 37 games. The only player near that is Edmondson who now looks like he is injured so may not be a problem.
Three good goals, one awaful goal and three points - at last. A welcome monkey off the back for now.
Still not totally convincing against a very poor and weakened Stoke City.
I suspect Saturday will be a tougher match with Derby defending deep and there will not be as many gaps to exploit as we were able to do so last night. Added to which they now have the John Eustace factor - perhaps it’s about time we beat one of his teams as we finally did with Mark Robinson last night.
Was last night the sign off green shoots or another false dawn. I suspect in typical Boro fashion they will keep us hoping they can make top six until the last game of the season and then guess what. 😎
The win feels good, we played well and it's nice for the real finn azaz to male an appearance, where has he been since the end of November. How did Conway miss from one yard I had started to celebrate. Stoke ate a poor team.
@k-p-in-spain That's a difficult question you have posed in your last paragraph. Can I have three guesses please? The boss passed me my phone behind the couch but I think she'd rather I stayed here for the day.
UTB,
John

Guess what... I write my match preview for the last game of the season 😉
An article about Djed Spence in the Guardian today. I think we all knew there was a good player in there if he could get his attitude right.
