@pedro You are right - February will be the acid test of this side. If we come out of it still in the top six, then we will have shown that ability to compete we are all hoping for.

Again I agree with the majority of the analysis. We seem to be saying the same things ad nauseum after each disappointment. Clearly we won’t win every away game and we have no divine right to take 3 points off teams such as Preston away from home.
The simple question is do we feel the playing personnel are good enough to reach the play offs? Are we just blinkered by our own rose tinted glasses expecting Boro to be better than they realistically are?
The best teams defend from the front so we can’t pin it all on the back 4. Is it just individual mistakes which can be hard to legislate for or are our woes more systematic ie the team set up too open and not good enough without the ball? Or are we simply over optimistic about our potential in this league?
Interesting remark by a contributor to the BeeB's live text commentary on the Fulham vs ManU match:
Regarding the argument about Amorim 'only playing one way' etc. Watched the West Ham manager set up a team based entirely on which players he had available today, and then make tactical substitutions during the match, and almost beating a good Villa side. Commitment to a way of playing is admirable when it's working. When it isn't then that flexibility can make all the difference.
Carrick too inexperienced (& pig-headed) to be so adaptable?
@stircrazy Will he eventually be the architect of his own demise and not because of the Recruitment?
Charlie Austin on radio 5 this morning said spurs manager will only play one way with no plan b or c, remind you f anyone?
