The pity about Connolly is he hasn’t really played for last two seasons and I think he can get better. Wilder wanted him when he was at Sheff Utd and has been following his career. There is talk of Boro signing him permanently!

I wondered whether Connolly would be better paired with someone like young Josh Coburn up front. I think that the physicality of both their games would unsettle a lit of defences and while Coburn might look like the more natural finisher of the two, paired together they might create space and opportunity for each other.
I just want to say that the Boro performance against Hull City was massively deflating. I would like to say that it was a surprise, but nobody would believe me. When most of the players have an off-day all together, you'd have to be really lucky to get anything out of the game. We were poor almost all over the pitch and the goal we conceded would have to be bleeped out if played before a family audience. One weekend holed below the waterline...
