@forever-dormo If you ran to there, you might get thirsty. Remember you must have a few beers for the win and still be able to walk home. Up the Boro!

If we do get the win Jarkko, I 'm sure FD will be floating home!

Conway gives Boro the lead in the 19th minute, assisted by McGree.  🙂

McGree himself makes it 0-2 in the 45th minute - Beeb live text commentary:

Boro in charge!

In the last minute of a half they have dominated, Middlesbrough get their second goal.  Michael Cooper's kick out lacks distance and Hayden Hackney wins it for the visitors.  It's moved back to him and his deflected shot comes back off the post.  Riley McGree isn't waiting around and he runs in to head home.

McGree starts. Always a huge boost 🤞🤞

A goal and an assist for him.

Keep him fit!

0-2 at HT. A brilliant first half. Maybe, just maybe, we are the real deal.

@powmillnaemore Sure, all 0,3 miles down hill.

We are now 0-2 up in Sheffield. Up the Boro!

Well that was an unbelievable breathless first half of non-stop first touch football and I can't recall Boro playing better than that in a long time - Boro deservedly 2 goals up but it could easily have been 4-2 as there were chances at both ends. More please!

O my goodness!  I thought when we missed those early chances that it was going to be one of those nights but so far so good. We should really be three/four up.

It’s been a delight to watch so far with everyone playing their part.

CoB don’t let it slip now keep going.😎

Great First Half from Middlesbrough. The stream I have features the two Boro commentators, they have to be the worst in the league.

After a pretty stressful first ten we grew into the game and look like we are in control. 15 shots 8 on target. As long as we can keep a tighter grip on Brooks in the second half I think we might take the points. I think we might be the real deal.

A tremendously exiting game by 2 good teams - it could have been 4-4 at half time. Once Boro scored they took control. What impresses me most is the quick accurate passing, movement off the ball and the energy of the players.

Is this the best Boro have played this season ?
I’ve not watched Malanda closely but he is Mr. Calmness- seems unflabble, reads the game well and his passing forward has been very accurate.

Hope the second half is as exciting.
The game is not yet won - so the same again please.

@malcolm I’m watching on Sky, but I actually enjoy the Radio Tees commentary, Maddo cares about the Boro and I like that.

@mw-in-darwin Yes those first ten minutes were difficult with Targett struggling a little, needs a bit more help.
Good football though from Sheffield at times.

I only wish Morris would stop doing his pirouettes in front of the 18 yard box.

@martin-bellamy Me, too. Maddo is good as well as Mark Drury. Better than the "safe" commentary we have on TV now. Up the Boro!

@martin-bellamy Hi Martin, I know they  care about the Boro. But both of them get on my nerves. Alastair Lambton and Bernie Slaven were the best

Gilbert on for McGree in the 67th minute - KH protecting him?

Brooks booked in the 65th minute, Callum Brittain in the 69th.

SheffU pulls one back (through Bamford, who else?) in the 73rd minute.

@stircrazy

2-1 to Boro. Sheffield revitalised. Boro rattled. Can they hold on. Hope they don’t go all defensive. Need to attack.

Phew!  1-2.  Five minutes of injury time, but they held out - & go top of the league!

Who’s feeling nerves setting in? Having said that, I’m quietly confident about tonight - 1-2 win is my forecast.

Well that was nail biting. Top of the league.

Top of the league and form table, too.

Did enough in the first half to win, again.

Looking forward to hearing how Dormo got home. Up the Borol

AN EXCELLENT GAME BY BOTH TEAMS AND A WONDERFUL ADVERT FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP .

BORO PRODUCED  A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE FOR MOST OF THE GAME WITH A LITTLE WOBBLE LATE ON .

BORO ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE !!

CONFIDENCE MUST BE SKY HIGH AND SO TO COVENTRY NEXT.

BUT WE MUST NOW ALL ENJOY THE MOMENT.

Very good win and very good performance and top of the league - very good! Somehow knew the second half would be much harder and credit to Sheff Utd for giving it everything and it was a good goal by Bamford and assist by Hamer - though thankfully a moment of madness by Rothwell took away any momentum they were building and Ayling and Boro's nous saw us over the line.

Still a brilliant first half display followed by battling second half proves Boro have what it takes to keep winning games and top of the league and 7 points clear of third is a huge platform at this stage of the season with Boro showing that big-game mentality and back up the slick play with tremendous work-rate too. Well done Boro!

That first half performance was the best that i have seen them play this season and yet, without that amazing save from Sol Brynn it could all have been very different.

Sheffield United are a really good team and winning at Bramall Lane is a statement to the whole division.

Echo player ratings:

https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/25840235.player-ratings-sheff-utd-1-middlesbrough-2---riley-mcgree-star-man/

McGree MotM.

And the Gazette's:

https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/middlesbrough-player-ratings-vs-sheffield-33393229

Doesn't say so in so many words, but the implication is that McGree was also its MotM.
