I loved the little fella and other individuals at Boro but Saturday was a complete team effort

"The current leaders are table toppers Leicester City, who have an average of 30,001."

Why oh why did I click that link....

@powmillnaemore @original-fat-bob - OFB said his next Match Preview was for 17th MARCH so, was that a typing error and he meant 17th Jan (not that I should crirticise with my fat fingers!)?

WBA away is very definitely an 8pm kick off on Friday 16th January. Just double checked. Also double checked the roster that AndyR put together and Bob is definitely down for this fixture.

So all good in the hood, as Mrs Powmill is fond of saying to me.

I've just realised that I am due to do the introduction to the Southampton game in early January. However, MrsOz and I will be away on holiday through that period and travelling on quite a tight schedule. Given that this game comes very soon after the New Years Day game, I can probably manage a quick roundup of how things stand after the Derby match. Alternatively, if someone else wants to take over this one, I'd be happy to swap.

Anyone have any thoughts?

@philip-of-huddersfield the thrill, and almost disbelief that we had such a player, when Juninho took off one on of his runs, is I think the highlight of my 50 years support.

I smile even now at the mere mention of Juninho and am astounded still that we managed to bring such a player to Teesside. And a seemingly nice man to boot. Unbeatable.

Elsewhere, despite the Newcastle United's defensive problems, a senior Newcastle source has claimed there are currently no plans to recall Matt Targett from the Riverside. The move has not been discussed as a serious option, although that could still change if more problems occur in the next few games.

@selwynoz

I'm happy to step in if it's a help, Selwyn.

The only issue I have is that there is only a two day gap between games, so I will have to post on the day before the match since it's best to give posters the chance to respond on the day after the Derby game.

The problem is that I'm useless at trying to start a new thread and I rely on the good will of Werder to help me out. If Werder is available so early in the new year to receive my opener by e mail on Saturday the 3rd Jan, there should be no problem. Indeed I could pen my piece now:

"After seven successive wins, surely even a rejuvenated Southampton can hold few fears for this rampant Boro side..." etc etc

Best of luck with the operation, Bob. We will all be rooting for you.

@lenmasterman

that’s very kind of you. If Werder can help,, I’m happy to take up your kind offer. Do you want me to take over one of your introductions?

No, it's fine. I felt that I had to opt out of the intros, since when they were being planned I was just out of hospital and couldn't guarantee that I'd be up to it. So it's good to be able to take my turn

I'll be around to post your preview as I don't get far from the bathroom these days - btw just to clarify it's because I'm renovating it 😉

The weird thing is that article is supposedly written by Eric Paylor - unless it's Eric P-AI-LOR...

btw Powmill, you asked some days ago about how you post an image so it displays the graphic and not the link.

The easiest way is to

  1. upload the graphic using 'Attach file' by clicking the 'Choose File' button just below the text box that you type your post.
  2. Then post you article
  3. Click on the file link that you added
  4. Copy the url of the uploaded file that you just clicked on
  5. Edit your post and then paste in the url of the graphic where you would like the image to appear in your post and then save you post again

Example:

I will attach a graphic...

You then get the link (in this case goal-net.jpg)

I click on the link and then copy the url (it will be a diasboro.club upload url like the one shown below)
 https://diasboro.club/wp-content/uploads/wpforo/default_attachments/1765895117-goal-net.jpg

I shall now paste that url into my post

The graphic will now appear in your post

@werdermouth Thanks for that Werder. I have spent a bit of time yesterday and today trying all sorts of different file format options and any different way i can think of to do this and nothing (of course) was working. Your notes are therfore impeccably well timed. Many, many thanks.

I wonder if someone "accidentally" included in a post some information that could only have come from them/was false, and then it appeared in a Press article somewhere, that would prove that AI (which gets its information from the internet but may not have the discrimination that we like to think humans have) has been used to write the article. A sort of "Wagatha Christie" sting. I expect there to be many suggestions in  the near future that ChatGPT or something similar has been used to complete PhD theses, even school essays, Judgments in legal cases etc.

I suppose we do not have the problem of any players missing Boro's matches because of taking part in ACON. Mo Salah has already joined the Egypt stquad in Cairo now.

I know we will have some players taking part in the World Cup in summer 2026, but this winter tournament in Africa should not affect Boro, if I am not missing something.

Good that there is no interruptiontfo us. Let's concentrate in the League now. Up the Boro!
