EXMIL CHALLENGE 2026 - Part 1
I have posted part 1 as a new topic in the Social Club section (for those who are not sure just scroll down), I need entries by 7pm on Friday as the first match kicks off at 8pm.
Come on BORO.
werdermouth is there a problem with the site, as I have tried several times to like a post or two and when I tried to quote your reply to me that button will not work either 🤔.
Come on BORO.
It seems there was a rogue html tag in one of the posts that had knocked the page formatting out - I've fixed it now.
Please note that I have now opened the Birmingham City v BORO topic and posted my intro. I'll try to get Exmil1-26 completed but it's now Thursday evening and it could be tight.
@werdermouth “not to worry, it’s only Ipswich”. That’s not a problem werder, not one we expect to win. Now if it had been Oxford. 😎
@philip-of-huddersfield - Similar story to Boro's. Sheffield United had a number of chances but only put one away The game could easily have been "safe" for United at HT. Coventry, on the other hand, proved to have a real cutting edge up front and a lesser number of chances were converted into two goals. The BBC Sport App shows possession 63.3% to United, 36.7% to Coventry, shots 22 to 11 in favour of United (but only 4 on target, whereas United's 5 on target resulted in 2 goals), and United having 35 touches in the opposing penalty area as opposed to Coventry's 20. United made almost double the passes at a considerably higher percentage of accuracy.
We come back to the tried and tested stats beloved of the record books. The only stat that counts is the stat which converts possession, passes and attempts into goals scored, minus goals conceded. Goals scored against goals conceded = sanity whilst possession and the other stats = vanity.

Just realised that Bristol City are still in the Cup. They play Port Vale next Tuesday for the right to host Sunderland in the 5th Round. This would mean that their home game with Coventry will be postponed if they win.
Thanks to MW in Darwin, I hadn’t realised that there was still an outstanding FA cup tie to be played, there I would ask everyone to put in their entry what result they have forecast for Bristol v Coventry and therefore I can deduct the necessary points from their total for part 1. The one good factor from this is both teams will have an extra game to schedule in either Part 2 or 3. Depending on Bristol winning at Port Vale next Tuesday night.
Come on BORO.
