@powmillnaemore Or Chuba Akpom! Up the Boro!
@jarrko. Thanks for your take on the current squad.
I would generally agree, however I do still think we are very vulnerable at CB.
I would also say that some of the short term injuries are probably medium term, including being match fit. Maybe up to 6/8 weeks. Forss, Fry, Smith, Howson, possibly Lenahan.
My other concern is our goals for column.
Hopefully Latte Lath @ 1 in 2/3 games, if he keeps fit. Then who and how many. Burgzorg, possibly, Our other number 9 or 10? But who in decent contribution numbers. I think we can forget the midfield as they rarely look like scoring.
If we don't score sufficient goals then we will probably struggle for a top six place.
We certainly need somebody to put the ball into the box from behind the opposition defence.
Just a quick update, on Friday I completed my last (🤞) Chemotherapy treatment and on Monday I had a CT Upper Abdomen and Thorax PIVC, next is a meeting with my consultant on 5 Sept, hopefully to get my surgery date.
Come on BORO.
@exmil good news to have finished course of chemo. Fingers crossed for your conversation on 5th Sept.
Exmil,
Good to hear the first lap is over and the CT scan too, if they haven't got you in quick that's good news too so the very best wishes for September 5. I must admit that I feel like a season ticket holder at the hospital sometimes but I always feel that it is a privilege to have these lovely people looking after you. I still get telephone calls from some of the 'Specialist' Nurses just checking to see if all is well. That contact gives you great confidence.
All the best Exmil and everyone else too.
UTB,
John
@exmil. Just wanted to echo the comments of others and pass on my best wishes. Good to get chemo out of the way and now onto the next hurdle but onward and upwards. Good Luck Exmil. 😎
@exmil - We're all behind you. I can't really get my fingers to cross (maybe too short and stubby, so I can get the middle fingers to lay alongside and partly - towards the ends - on top of their adjoining index finger) but they are metaphorically crossed in support.
Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes.
Come on BORO.
Clermont’s Brazilian left-back Neto Borges is set to sign for Middlesbrough in the next few hours. (Marc Mechenoua - GOAL)
As we know recruitment is about opinion, but to be honest ,forget the times we paid over the top money , to bring in internationals, you know once upon a time,
Our success as been poor, we won't mention the Scottish invasion, and I believe Steve Gibson , and its his right , was behind alot of it, he rubber stamped them, and if anyone thinks it was blind trust ,your dreaming
He finally realized ,maybe we do need someone,to organize and oversee , ins and outs, not just sign a player who was fantastic on the day he played against us
We now look like , finally we're on track, yes the odd one will not quit fit, but that's expected, I think we have a couple now who should be moved on.
The reason for my post, I have an opinion,
Watched QPR v Plymouth, I'm saying to Mr Scott ,offer Plymouth, Coburn and Jones , for Whittaker, he's very much like Cole Palmer , and we would steel him,

Up the Broo!
Hannibal Mejbri, a midfielder, on loan from ManU anyone?
Lots of stats about Boro's shots on goal tally so far this season (apparently, Finn Azaz leads the Champo for most shots on target - six so far) & the reason why the kick-off was brought forward to 19.15 at Boro's request.

Gazette live updates on incomings/outgoings - Coburn to Millwall on a season-long loan:
Not sure how accurate this report on SSN is:
Latte Lath staying at Boro despite Ipswich interest
Latest from Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas:
Emmanuel Latte Lath is staying at Middlesbrough despite late interest from Ipswich.
Sources have told Sky Sports News that the striker did not travel with the squad to Cardiff for Saturday’s game.
He will not be in the matchday squad at the Cardiff City stadium, live on Sky Sports+ at 12.30pm tomorrow.
😎
Does letting Coburn join Millwall mean that Boro are confident that Lathe will not be going to Ipswich?
Hopefully yes but whenever a player does travel with the team for the next game makes me nervous.
Philip of Huddersfield ☹️👎
It is now reported that Lath is travelling to Cardiff to join up with the Boro squad.

Gazette live updates on incomings/outgoings - Coburn to Millwall on a season-long loan:
Sonny Finch has gone to MK Dons on loan for a year.
Ben Doak has completed his medical at Boro and agreed terms on a season long loan.
Come on BORO.
Edmundson has completed his loan deal from Ipswich to Boro.
Come on BORO.
So, it’s another 2 players signed. The conclusion after all the comings and goings is that the squad is stronger than before the transfers.
The ball is now in Carrick’s court to prove himself that the squad is good enough for a top 6 finish.
Hopefully, he can avoid defeat tomorrow and then have the break from playing to get the squad more organised. Also and very importantly get some injured players back playing although because of the length of time out, they will only be on the bench.
Philip of Huddersfield 👍🤗
Ipswich playing the odds didn’t work out, not only did they lose out on Latte Lath but Broja joined Everton so they shot themselves in the foot and didn’t end up with a striker.
Come on BORO.
Well, in the end, we didn’t lose any of our first choice players which was probably the most important factor.
Quite excited to see Doak and there is some additional cover at the back. Glad it’s a loan as we’ll be overstocked if everyone is ever fit at the same.
Coburn going is a bit of a shame but again it’s only a loan that will probably do him good. I think he’s not quite at the right level or the right profile of forward for Carrick so he’ll probably get more out of his time at Millwall and come back a better player.
Hopefully ELL will quickly get back into the right headspace, then Conway and Burzog will have to step up to prove themselves able deputies.
Teamsheet today could be interesting but I’ll miss the game as we’re away at my daughters netball tournament all weekend.
Fingers crossed and come on Boro. We could really do with a win to take into the break.

Makes his debut & scores!
Anyone who as followed Middlesbrough FC, for enough years ,,in my case sixty, the one word that describes them is an Enigma.
Since the first relegation from the top division , in the mid fifties, it's a club , that constantly with great intentions, pushed to join the elites, either spending on players or changing managers, however apart from a couple of eras in the late seventees and the Riverside revolution ,even then we saw relegations ,
This is the enigma, even in the second division we had Internationals in the team, English, Scottish, Irish ,Welsh, Clough and Holliday for England etc,
On paper at times ,we should have walked the league, however the consistency dropped off,
A club which embraced a World cup at their stadium, its mind boggling, you can't even find a logical reason.
I now want to get back to state of Boro nation today, are we still on that course of over thinking, and I say that because did we need this many signings, how do you keep them happy, and fitting them in, Carrick best time was when he came in, and kept the same team , for most of the season, the hiccup came when he changed it, the last four or five upsetting the rhythm,
I see a number of championship games ,and this season early I know, but I've been impressed with W.Brom, and Blackburn, two teams I thought might drop off, however they haven't changed their squads like we have, and are very solid and pragmatic, Stoke another one, ,even Sunderland, by the way their recruitment is excellent,
So getting back, Boro, ambitious yes , on paper should be very close, I expect and hope, finally this time around , we join the elites
COB
Sounds like Ben Doak is in the process of turning around Scotland's fortunes against Poland single-handed
Well not quite. Seventh minute of injury time penalty defeat. Welcome to our world, Ben
